Julius and Whaki arrived within 1 hour of the 8-12 service window after giving 20 minutes heads up notification. They diagnosed, explained, and fixed the problem in 5 minutes, then efficiently installed a new thermostat for my upstairs area. They explained how my system operates in great detail, leaving me extremely satisfied with the job overall. Price was about $50 above typical range, but the efficiency of service and explanations given were well worth it. Full recommendation.

Kerry, Jerry, Josh and team spent the entire day here today replacing my heat pump. They were professional, friendly and thorough, explaining the new system to me making sure I understood how to operate things. They went above and beyond to make sure all was working well, down to replacing the lightbulb in the crawlspace. Brad, the comfort advisor, delivered the same excellent service when he explained my replacement options about a week ago. I have had a whole home plan with Woodfin for several years and have never thought twice about that decision. Awesome company and awesome people!

The awesome team at Woodfin just replaced my downstairs heat pump with a new carrier, duel fuel, high efficiency, ecobee thermostat, Carrier heat pump. My previous unit was over 20 years old and was showing its age. Brad gave me a fair estimate of the cost and worked to have the new unit quickly installed. The installer David was outstanding - he explained everything in detail to me, and was patient with my questions. and he showed me pictures of all of his work. We went through the thermostat and we discussed how to customize. Part of the reason I went with Woodfin is their people - they are quality and they care about the customer. I also appreciate the high quality equipment that they use. I plan on staying in my house a long time and I appreciate the quality of the Unit and the craftsmanship of their work. Thank you David and team for a quality job! PS: I rarely write reviews - but its so nice to find an outstanding product and professionals in these days.

We live out in Prince George and had a job done a few days ago. I took a few days off before I posted this because I wanted to write a fair and objective review. So, we had Woodfin come out and install a high efficiency split system Inverter heat pump for our ground floor a few days ago. Some of the positives are as follows: 1. They had the best contract pitch out of four outfits we had over for estimates. 2. They were the only ones that worked in a ten-year annual maintenance plan and an air scrubber in their offer. Both are high quality. 3. The crew who did the install were professionally dressed, friendly and worked hard for 7 hours. 4. We were particularly happy with the quality of the air handler and the air scrubber. 5. The thermostat is a high quality [Wi-Fi operated] model that also has many smart functions including air quality indicator and a remote temp detector. We also experienced the following disappointments: 1. The Inverter that was offered in our contract was not the inverter that they installed. No attempt was made to reach out to us as to this “swap” nor a reason why it was swapped provided. 2. The inverter Woodfin installed had no “EnergyGuide Label” affixed to it. I understand that this is an [FTC] requirement. This was also important because the system they installed was very difficult to research. Probably because it was a lower grade inverter. This year, if homeowners install a high efficiency HVAC or AC system, they can obtain up to a $2000 dollar rebate. This fact was pitched to us by the seller and the main reason why we contracted for it. I had to do my own homework and finally located it in the AHRI Directory [Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute]. This is one way the IRS, customers and installers cross references equipment that meets or exceeds the energy ratings for these rebates. Without this information, or an energy rating certification from the manufacture you are...well SOL if you get audited! We were able to do a background check on the inverter listed on our contract…not on this item Woodfin replaced it with without our approval or knowledge. 3. Woodfin also bumped our bill up another $885- to have one of their electricians come over and replace my 15 amp fuse with a 30 amp fuse, again per our contract. The electrician spent ten minutes in front of our fuse box and I discovered he only replaced the 15 amp with a 25 amp fuse…and didn’t string a higher gauge wire [[10AWG]. I protested and the seller did adjust our bill to compensate for the issue. 4. Lastly, the crew chief told me he would secure the inverter stand to the ground pallet with “locking screws”. What he actually did was use machine screws and they were so loose that they pulled right up with two fingers. So, we had to do a little extra maintenance to secure the inverter. Look, this is a big “caveat emptor” to potential homeowners out there looking to install this expensive equipment. After listening to these four offers we had, we understood that this is a very competitive business. It “appears” that either through trying to fill a busy Calendar with installations, a lack of attention to detail, or trying to install the least costly equipment for the maximum asking price…this could happen! I also don’t appreciate Woodfin padding their invoice with an 800- dollar charge for just popping in a new circuit breaker before I protested about it. We’re older homeowners and we’ve hired our share of contractors through the years. Homeowners have got to pay attention as much as possible! We worked hard to save a large sum of money and were really excited about having Woodfin do this job. We don’t really blame the crew; they worked hard for seven hours and did a fairly decent job…particularly with the air-handler install. Not as much with the rest of the experience and Woodfin fell short. Post script: I did receive a polite phone call from Rodney and we talked about these issues. We Appreciate the follow up. He also provided us the AHRI certification and the EnergyGuide.

My AC wasn’t blowing cold air and I initially had Colonial do the first quote. they claimed I needed a new compressor and would do it for 3800. Obviously, we wanted a second quote elsewhere and decided on Woodfin again from the great experience we had prior with our water main replacement. They arrived the next day and diagnosed the problem as the capacitor and were amazed as to why the previous technician didn’t check it. They replaced the capacitor and left. Unfortunately, the AC still wasn’t working and we had to have them to come out the next day. After the call, they were out there within the hour and found the Colonial tech had disconnected something from the compressor and they reconnected it. Boom, cold air and we were not 3800 in the hole. Our techs were Jaron and Antonio, both were courteous, quick, and very easy to talk to. Sorry about getting stung by a hornet Antonio, you are a saint. If you are a first time home owner and you are in a flipped house, the HVAC plan is reasonable and will alleviate some stress of having to pay for multiple visits. If our heat goes out this winter, we already know who we are calling first.
