I've used wirenut for a long time and have always been very happy with them. But lately it seems like something has changed. They used to let me schedule appointments in the evenings but now they only offer morning and afternoon appointments, which doesn't work real well when you work all day. So today (a Saturday) they were scheduled to come out for a furnace tune-up. 30 minutes out from my scheduled time I got a phone call saying they didn't have enough technicians to complete my appointment. Isn't that the point of making an appointment? To make sure you have enough people on hand to fulfill the jobs for that day? I'm rather disappointed with wirenut at the moment.

William (Junior) was the electrician who installed the power supply for my new AC unit that was installed by WieNut Home Services. It was a challenging installation as the power breaker was located on the opposite side of the house than the AC unit, with no attic access. He took an extra day to plan out the best way to run the electrical along the outside of the house. When the installation was complete it was very professional and almost invisible. He also took into account that in the near future I would need to replace the siding on my house. Even though over 100 ft of electrical tubing was installed, only a small 7 ft section will have to be removed and reinstalled when my siding is replaced. William was very professional and skilled!!

Contacted Wirenut on a Friday. Appeared hot water tank was leaking (7 year old tank). Tech came and said yes. Tank was bad. $3800 for a 50 gallon replacement. $11K for tankless. Sold me on the tankless. It was to be installed the following Tuesday. Saturday evening I have no hot water. Wirenut THANKFULLY has no emergency crew after 5pm. Called Olson at 7:30 on a Saturday. Tech arrived and said the pilot was never relit. Tank was fine. Bottom line: tank is fine 1 month later. The problem was the pressure regulator. These jokers almost conned me out of $11K. Tristan communicated with me an hour before arriving and sent a text that included his photo and a brief bio on him personally. That was a nice touch, and especially appreciated, since I live alone. When Tristan arrived, he slipped disposable covers over his shoes, which was thoughtful of him, respectful of my home, and professional. He thoroughly examined all parts of my aging water heater, including connectors and venting in the laundry room. He kindly took time to explain various issues he observed in terms I could understand. After doing the inspection, Tristan spent about 30 minutes putting together on his iPad a number of options for me to consider and talk over with my grown sons. He went over each option, and pursuant to our discussion, emailed printable copies of those options to me. Wire Nut definitely gets a five-star rating!

Up front. I will give Wirenut a chance again in the future. HUGE KUDOS to our HVAC Technician, Adam C. Great communicator, professional in conduct and appearance, fun to chat with, and thorough & deliberate in his work. Wirenut did not hide anything; everything was upfront, thoroughly explained and professionally presented. My experience suggests that this is a VERY honest company. I was doing my pre-winter checklist around the house, and my furnace was not working properly. Wireneut was extremely responsive. We determined that the furnace needed a new inducer and that checked out with my own research on the web and in the DIY forums. All good. Then came the estimate. About $2,700 for parts and work, which included a thorough cleaning of the furnace. Woah. The kicker was about $2,050 for the inducer assembly. The exact same part from the OEM Carrier manufacturer...$250. Yep...that is an 820% mark-up on parts. I couldn't get my brain around that. I politely declined the service, and Adam professionally cleaned up after himself and politely got on with his day. My cost for the visit: $29. WAY MORE than reasonable. Had you limited the mark-up for the inducer to just 100%...double the price...to about $500 or so...I would have signed. Charging 8.2 times what I am going to pay on Amazon. That is over the top. As I said, I will give them a chance again in the future. Adam C. sealed that deal. What a great tech. If pricing is not reasonable again, I will move on. Wirenut...figure this out.
