- MBMorgan BohannonJun 12, 20251.0We've used Window World for more than one project at our house. The most recent left a bad taste in our mouth and they don't seem to be interested in solving it. We had a door installed a year or two ago and all went well. We thought so much of it that we hired them to do another door. Both doors have alarm contacts in them. The first door went fine, and the alarm was reconnected. On the second door they told us they would reconnect the alarm as well. We had to leave the installer due to a program with our grandchildren at school. He said he'd be there when we got back. He wasn't there when we returned, and the alarm was not connected. They also installed a transom over the door. They said it had to be ordered together. They told us the transom over the door would be identical to the ones over our window, it was not. When we asked for it to be changed, they said they'd have to order another door. As for the alarm, they said they don't do that even though they did it on the other door not long ago. They have offered no relief or compromise, so we are just stuck with a door not connected to our alarm system and a transom that does not match the others. Unacceptable. I hope they made a lot on these two doors because I'll pay 20% more for someone to do what they said they would do next time. Goodbye Window World.

And there does not seem to be a sense of urgency to help correct this situation despite several calls about it. It is unsafe and a huge hassle to have to deal with doors that we cannot lock or unlock from the outside, and the lack of concern and response about it is even more frustrating.

Will the replacement windows be installed from the inside or outside?
The majority of our replacement windows are installed from the outside. In some situations, it may be necessary to install from the inside. On the day of installation, your installation expert will assess your unique situation and explain the process that will best suit your home.
Do you install replacement windows year-round? If so, will I lose a lot of heat/cooling at the time of installation?
Window World installs replacement windows year-round. An average installation will take only one day. Our crews install one window at a time and are trained to do what they can to minimize heating/cooling loss. The energy savings from your new windows will recover any incremental energy costs incurred during their installation many times over during their lifetime.
How can I prepare my house for my replacement windows?
Please take down curtains, blinds, or any other window treatments. Security sensors should also be removed and turned off by your security company. Please provide our installation expert with a clear path to the window(s) being replaced by moving anything that may be in the way. It is also advisable to remove all wall decorations from the walls close to the windows as they may fall during removal or installation.
How long will it take to get my replacement windows? How much time should I allow for the installation?
Generally, replacement windows can be installed within 4-8 weeks from the date that the final measurements are taken. The type of window being installed and type being removed helps determine the amount of time needed to complete the job. On average each window takes about 30-60 minutes. Trim work and cleanup will require additional time to complete. An average job will take a single day.

What happens to my old windows?
After installing your new replacement windows we remove all old windows from your property and dispose of them properly. If you wish to keep your old windows or storm windows, please notify the installation crew as soon as they arrive for your installation.
