- BSBobbie StorrsJun 18, 20251.0The owner, Brad is friendly and helpful. The quality of the windows and the quality of the installation is not good. We got windows in 2021. The installers left trash and cigarette butts all over on the ground, took produce from my garden and discarded the scraps in my driveway. After they installed the windows, I spent hours cleaning the silicone - from the factory - as well as grime - off of the windows. A short time later, I cannot remember the defect, ALL of the windows were replaced. So more hours cleaning the new windows. Brad told me with Covid going on, the quality of the production had not been good. The replacement windows are no better. Hard to open and close, trim pieces not lined up, dirt came in horribly on the sides - Brad did provide felt pads that weren't installed where the should have been. I had doors installed as well. Brad spent time on his hands and knees scraping up silicone from the messy job the installers did. The handle on one of the screen doors was loose and he tightened it, telling me that's just how they are - although the identical handle on the the second screen door they installed is not loose. A couple of weeks ago, the closer bracket on one of the screen doors broke. The installers only put in 3 of the 4 screws and over time, the metal "tore" and finally broke. Last week, a metal piece from one of the windows fell to the floor. Not sure where it came from.. Today, the loose door handle on the screen door - I have tightened it repeatedly, but not often enough apparently - fell off and ended up between the house and the deck. Are the cheaper than everyone else? Yep. But there's a reason.

Will the replacement windows be installed from the inside or outside?
The majority of our replacement windows are installed from the outside. In some situations it may be necessary to install from the inside. On the day of installation, your installation expert will assess your unique situation and explain the process that will best suit your home.
Do you install replacement windows year-round? If so, will I lose a lot of heat/cooling at the time of installation?
Window World installs replacement windows year-round. An average installation will take only one day. Our crews install one window at a time and are trained to do what they can to minimize heating/cooling loss. The energy savings from your new windows will recover any incremental energy costs incurred during their installation many times over during their lifetime.
How can I prepare my house for my replacement windows?
Please take down curtains, blinds, or any other window treatments. Security sensors should also be removed and turned off by your security company. Please provide our installation expert with a clear path to the window(s) being replaced by moving anything that may be in the way. It is also advisable to remove all wall decorations from the walls close to the windows as they may fall during removal or installation.
How long will it take to get my replacement windows? How much time should I allow for the installation?
Since every window ordered is custom-built to fit your home and design choices, manufacturing times vary. Once delivered, the type of window being installed and the type being removed help determine the amount of time needed to complete the job. On average, each window takes about 30 minutes. Trim work and cleanup will require additional time to complete. An average job will take a single day.
What type of warranty is available for my windows?

What happens to my old windows?
After installing your new replacement windows we remove all old windows from your property and dispose of them properly. If you wish to keep your old windows or storm windows, please notify the installation crew as soon as it arrives for your installation.
What do I do if there is a problem with the windows?
Most of the issues encountered by our customers are easily corrected and don't necessarily mean that there is a problem with your window. You are always welcome to contact us for help.
