Stopped in for a wine tasting between films during the Bend Film Festival. The wine was great, but so was the food, especially the Moroccan chicken thighs. And our server, Brooke, was amazing.

It was a Napa Valley experience without the pretentiousness Our server Riley was warm, friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable. My wife and I were in Bend, Oregon for an art show. We were thirsty and a bit hungry so we stopped at the Willamette Valley Tasting Room for some wine and appetizers. There are three tables outside if the weather is accommodating. We had been outside all afternoon so we requested an indoor table. The tasting room is located in an early 1900’s building with high a high ceiling and a beautiful, old brick wall. The other wall has attractive scenes from vineyards, a trademark of the Willamette Valley. Bethany and I ordered two glasses of an Elton vineyard, Pinot Noir. This is an excellent, smooth, fruity, wine. It was perfect for sipping slowly while contemplating what we wanted to eat with the wine. We chose the bacon-wrapped dates and the artichoke dip. Both dishes were served hot and both were delicious. The bacon-wrapped dates had a balsamic drizzle…..so good. Artichoke dip is a favorite of mine and this is a good version. Our server, Riley, was very nice and helped us with our wine and food choices. Riley worked at the Elton Vineyard (South of Portland) previously and was able to set up a reservation for us to do a tasting there, this coming Wednesday. We highly recommend the Willamette Valley Tasting Room in Bend, Oregon.
