Site-finished or factory-finished?
At Wicks Wood Floors, Inc, we specialize in site-finished hardwood flooring, which offers maximum customization. We install raw wood and sand it on-site, allowing you to choose your preferred stain. Factory-finished floors, on the other hand, come pre-stained and can be walked on immediately after installation.
Solid or engineered flooring?
Solid wood flooring consists of a single piece of wood and can be refinished multiple times, lasting over 100 years. Engineered flooring has a solid wood veneer on top of several substrate layers. Some engineered floors can be refinished, depending on the thickness of the wood veneer.
Cracks between boards?
Seasonal changes and humidity fluctuations can cause hardwood floors to expand and contract, resulting in spaces between boards. These gaps are normal and usually close when moisture returns to the air. We recommend installing a humidifier to minimize these changes.
Fading of wood floors?
Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause wood floors to fade or discolor, similar to other home furnishings. We suggest using window coverings during periods of intense sunlight to protect your floors.

We offer services to replace pet-stained or water-damaged boards in your existing hardwood floor. After replacing the affected boards, we sand the area to ensure uniform flatness and mix a custom stain to match your current flooring.
