First of all I am a Las Vegas local and have lived here over 30 years and the reason I stayed at the Westgate is because my mother wanted to spend a couple of nights on the strip. The Westgate is the old Hilton so it has been around many many years and you can see it in some of the room fixtures. Worn out paint, quirky low toilets. However don't let that fool you, the service from the Valet to the front desk was fabulous, all employees used my name when they could and they were very hospitable. The rooms are old, but VERY clean, the bedding was super comfortable and the mattress was entirely fine, the pillows were fantastic. The AC was kind of struggling to get to 70 degrees but once it was there it was quiet and cool. The water pressure in the showers was amazing and almost pinned me to the wall, also the temperature was super hot. Negatives were no coffee machines in the room, which meant a 30 mins wait in the coffee shop downstairs. The furniture could do with an upgrade or touch up, but the draws were clean and dust free. Overall for being an off strip property i would recommend staying here if u want no frills accommodation that is clean.

Wish we would've Westgated! No we didn't stay here; but we visited the resort, shopping, casino, Elvis-acana, convention areas, and the spaceship! "The king" married my wife and I the day prior to our visit and then, from the great beyond, he guided our wedding gift to eachother, via the Vegas Westgate resort's exceptional personnel: Joan, Anthony, Seth, Austin and even Mr. Zachary our driver! We're proud Westgate owners now and that is entirely at the hands and efforts of the people I just mentioned. Not to step beyond the boundaries of my own modesty, but I would say that we are proud enough to carry a vested interest in a meeting with developers and the King's remaining family concerning a diamond of a dream of an idea worthy of "The King's" Discerning Approval. Furthermore, we look forward to a long and excellent association with the fine folks of Westgate for years yet to be enjoyed! Thank you again, Anthony & Seth - the Godsent that you were really stepped up and moonshot it out of the park for us against extremely long odds! Keep wearing the good shirts, Aquaman of the dry desert, and never forget I still believe in you even if that is just my alien symbiote talking!

One of the WORST hotels I've had the pleasure of staying in with good service and a nice staff. DO NOT get trapped into sitting for 90 minutes timeshare preview!!! They also charge Resort fees and taxes once you arrive that may not been disclosed when you make the reservation. I have owned several timeshares over 25+ years, had a lot of great and terrible moments but will not purchase again. Yes you will save money on the individual stay but still have to factor in all the extra fees. I found limitations to the system... AC has trouble cooling the room. The bed placement is in a cove so the air is not directed towards the bed to keep you cool at night. Keep the curtains closed to keep the heat out!!! The hotel room are infested with roaches; confirmed by the cleaning staff! Maintenance is not kept up because they are more interested in building out/constructing the Westgate timeshare vacation owners suites/wings. Our room keys quit working 4 times over 5 days. The rooms do not have microwaves or coffe/tea pots. 1/3 of the Sid's cafe restaurant, casino floor and all of the vegas style shows had to be closed down and cleaned after a heavy rain that flooded the building. The shows were canceled the entire 5 days we were there. This is a very old and no thrills hotel and not on the strip. Very limited food options. The Mexican restaurant made me sick... The food was very over prices, greasy and no flavor. Small casino but they tout about they have the largest sports book and the Elvis history. The best thing about the hotel is the tram station. DO NOT get trapped into sitting for 90 minutes for the timeshare. They start out at $180,000 for smaller units than other timeshare locations that sell for way less....others sell for less than $20,000 with a deed to the property. The free gifts and breakfast are not worth your time!!! Don't let them fool you into thinking this hotel is the best/magnificent and most potential for gaining value for your timeshare. NO ONE can guarantee you future value and that you can get out of your timeshare and not lose money once you are tired of the fees and want out; unless they buy it back from you and you get it in writing! They also can not guarantee unless in writing; the amount the service/HOA fees and taxes will be achieved year. They can show you stats from passed years. They do not discuss the extra cost/fees to join the outside agencies that you may need to transfer or trade your timeshare for other locations and cruises, etc. Remember the purchase of the timeshare is the first of many many future cost. Good luck! All the information I have stated is my opinion, observations or comments from staff at the location. You must do your own research.

We booked a room with two queen beds and a sofa bed specifically because we have two older teens who wanted their own space. We confirmed this the front desk upon arrival, but when we got to the room it had one king bed and a sofa. While my wife tried to contact phone the hotel from the room, I went back to reception to see if we could change to what we had booked. We were told that we had been 'upgraded' (not really the case), and that an alternative room was not available. We specifically chose this hotel for the three bed option, so we were very disappointed to be told that my daughter would have to sleep on the floor until another room was free the next day. A mattress was requested but did not arrive until we chased it up three hours later. We assumed that the hotel would take care of the room move offered for the next day, as is the case with other establishments, but the hotel told us we would have to return between 1 and 3pm to switch. This was really inappropriate considering we wanted to have a full day out the next day. To compound our disappointment, the duty manager at the front desk complained loudly that "we were making his life difficult". He even asked us if we had heard what he said...we believe he wanted us to hear. So, not only had we not got the room we had reserved well in advance, but we were being blamed for being awkward. The hotel staff were (apart from that guy) excellent, especially at Sid's restaurant, where the breakfasts were also wonderful. However, the rooms themselves are showing signs of age, and ours had not been properly cleaned (dirty mirror, hairs in the shower and bathroom floor etc.) and no daily housekeeping was provided. in the first room the safe was broken, the sofa bed did not lie flat (friendly maintenance guy said "this happens to old beds") but at a jaunty angle, the toilet roll hold came off the wall and there weren't enough towels. The bottom line is that we would not even consider the Westgate again.

Firstly, I’m a veteran 27 year business traveler, so I’ve stayed at HUNDREDS of hotels. The Westgate is off the strip a ways but the monorail makes it very accessible. And, parking is easy with their nearby ramp. I’ve been to the Westgate in the past for work conferences and have a good experience. This trip was personal for my wife and I, and it was a very mixed experience. The room was not great. Housekeeping skipped us a few times in the 5 days of our stay and I called one in f the days to ensure we’d get service which was cleaned very late in the day. We were out of our room by 11am every day and returned in the evening most days. The restaurants were good, and the lobby bar area has a fun stage with local performers, not great, but it was okay. Our room had an excellent overhead rain shower element that leaked on us while using the main shower head on the wall. It was VERY annoying and the hotel needs to repair it. The control handle was loose and no matter what you did it would just sprinkle on you during and after a shower. The elevators are very difficult in the North Tower and MANY times skipped our floor to get picked up most of the days we were there. Very annoying. We often times had to walk and haul things to the main elevator bank. The Loco Taco restaurant was VERY good and everyone should try their street tacos and their morning breakfast burrito! We had that a few times and were never disappointed! Unverifiable- But my wife and I were pretty certain our room had bed bugs as well from the several small bites on our ankles we both noticed on our last day packing up to leave. In the future we will look at the Freemont downtown area to stay. Lower priced rooms, lower priced food and drinks and you can walk anywhere vs always having to Uber, Taxi or Monorail if you stay at the Westgate for a pleasure trip to Vegas.
