David from maintenance just helped me with my AC and shower head, and he was incredibly helpful, professional, and friendly. He really goes above and beyond, and it makes such a difference having someone like him on the team. Along with Eric and Chef Bobby, he’s a big part of why this place feels welcoming. I truly hope management recognizes how valuable they are.

I moved into these apartments based on good word of mouth from a friend of ours who lives here. I wish I could say I had the same experience. I’m sharing this in case this helps anyone — and to know what you’re signing up for before you move in. A month after I moved into the apartments, I was physically assaulted by another tenant. When I spoke to management, they refused to get involved. I later found out that the person who attacked me had a history of being evicted and lived with someone with a violent criminal past — things which should have been picked up by a standard background check. As we had just signed a 14 lmonth lease, I tried to speak to the GM about my concerns for my safety in the community and she called me “vindictive”. IMO, that’s an incredibly unprofessional and inappropriate way to speak to a tenant, specially one who has been the victim of an unprovoked assault on their property. I eventually tried to get cameras put up in the area that it happened but it never came. Further, our bike was stolen from the garage which DOES have cameras. However they failed to give us access to it when we asked so we could attach it to the police report we filed. They simply “made a note in our file” and did nothing to improve their security. Sure, the amenities are nice and it’s in a seemingly nice area. But tbh I have been too afraid to really make use of them out of fear of another unprovoked attack on their property. The assault happened when I was walking my dog, and now every day, at least twice a day when I walk him, I relive the trauma. All because they didn’t properly screen all their applicants. Additionally, I had an upstairs neighbor move in who made noise at all hours — they made so much noise that my sofa would shake. I tried contacting management about it, security about it, leaving a note with the upstairs neighbors about it — all to no avail. They eventually moved out and they solved it, but nothing was done on management’s part. The smoke detectors are also far too sensitive. Sometimes they go off if you just turn the oven on without even opening the oven door. No remediation either — changing the batteries doesn’t help. It’s just something you’re going to have to get used to living with. Lastly, now that we are getting ready to move out, I have it on good authority to not bother cleaning as they will charge you whether you do or don’t. They ask you to move the oven and the fridge and clean behind it — which not only sounds completely unreasonable to me — but which I cannot do at the moment as I am pregnant. There’s also a lot of other hidden charges that they don’t disclose are likely such as carpet cleaning and repainting — even though we paid them to paint the walls when we moved in — we would likely be charged to repaint them again upon move out. West Park had an absolute duty of care to me as their tenant — a duty they failed on every single level. They legally have a responsibility to protect tenants from foreseeable dangers, keep common areas secure, and respond promptly when safety issues arise. They ignored my safety concerns after a violent assault on their property and responded to me with derision, failed to secure my belongings, denied access to evidence that could aid a police investigation, and showed no regard for my peace of mind or wellbeing. If you are looking for a management team that will protect you, your property, and your basic right to feel safe in your own home, as I was when I moved in, do not rent here. The GM will probably call me “vindictive” again for posting this but I feel it’s my duty to warn others what exactly you jeopardize by living here. You have a legal right to protection from harm and to be treated with respect which I was not granted.

Fast maintenance and clean apartments, but had issues with parking. Often had strangers park in my spot, leading me to call towing way too frequently. Management agreed to put a sign at my spot to remind guests to park in the guest lot and not assigned resident spots, but they never did :( The move out fees were way higher than anticipated in the estimates, and when asked for proof of needing repairs done, they said they already completed it and they do not have pictures or proof. :( However, besides that, loved the community and maintenance team. Management was also pretty helpful and invested in helping me find my lost packages here and there
