You need to get tickets in advance, but they're free! Great ride around town in Nauvoo and you get to pet the horses afterwards!

In August 2025, we visited the Wagon Depot in Nauvoo, Illinois. We were in Nauvoo to see the Nauvoo Pageant, a theatrical performance that starts at 8:30 pm for a 3 week run during the Summer. Like all of the other exhibits in Nauvoo, the Wagon Depot does not cost anything, and the Wagon Depot does not run on Sundays. The horses pull a wagon that traverses through the historical Nauvoo streets. Additionally, there is an area to feed the horses at the Wagon Depot. This is a highly entertaining and memorable experience.

What a great way to start our tour of Nauvoo! The wagon took us all around old Nauvoo, giving us an overview of the area, so we could decide what we wanted to see more of. The guides were knowledgeable and entertaining. We had a great time. Would highly recommend.
