I highly recommend Thomas Wade Auctions to everyone! Honest. Informative. Trustworthy. Can not get any better than that in my world! Let’s start from the beginning. I met Thomas Wade Jr when he delivered a dumpster up my parents narrow stone driveway in Morgantown, WV. It was our parent’s home who have now passed: Mother in April of 2017 and Stepdad in May of 2021. It was my responsibility, the Executrix, to do what needed to be done in a timely manner. I live 6 hours away in Ocean City, Maryland and moved back temporarily to take care of said house.
We all have memories of our loved ones. We would love to take “everything”, but in reality, we can’t, we have our own stuff and lives. Sometimes it is best to have an “outsider’s view” on things. Could the solution be an auction?
Well, the auction people I know from OC are friendly and honest. I bet that was the same in WV and I contacted Wade’s Auction. When I questioned Tom Jr. about his father’s business, he freely gave me his information. Tom Jr. was extremely polite, kind, nice... and honest.
When I first met Thomas Wade Sr., I was immediately comfortable; a great guy, down to earth, easy to talk to, and very informative. He explained everything, the process from start to finish. It was nice to find Wade’s Auction to represent me, and help me with difficult decisions.
Informative is another great word I would like to use in this review. I had no idea what was “in” or “not in”. I wanted to get rid of everything in the house, including the house. Yes, there was sentimental value all throughout the house, but they (Wade’s) weren’t looking at it like that. They were positioning it for a profitable sale. This is what they do. My sister questioned sentimental value but, I told my sister, that is the point of an auction. They do not care about sentimental value; they are looking at the bottom line for you, the customer. Thomas Wade is a businessman, an honest, good businessman, who knows exactly what he’s doing. (Who knew that clay pots with old stamps from PA could be worth lots of money? I sure didn’t!! Hang on to those ladies!!) Honest and Informative traits that played a big role in my decision to go with Wade’s Auction.
Once the auction date was set, Wade’s Auction came out and power washed the house including the driveway. They did an outstanding job and worked with me along the way. I thought sometimes that I was lost, but I reached out to Tom and he calmed me down; talked me off the ledge, per se. It was nice to have another friend in Morgantown. It reminded me that we all have had hard times and we all need to take a deep breath and breathe before speaking. This is how we build trust.
Wade’s Auction also helped with the clean-up in the basement, which was particularly bad. The only thing I can say about the clean-up is “WOW!!” Very HAPPY!! Tom was true to his word and did exactly what he said he was going to do! Integrity!
The yard work was done by Wade Enterprises and the cost was decent. I didn’t have to worry about it. The team came out, cut the grass, blew all the debris away, I was highly impressed. Great job!!
In the end, the auction was a success, but the job wasn’t over. Wade’s Auction then cleared the space, disposing of unsold items, leaving it buyer ready. The competition won’t give you services like Wade’s Auction!
The owner, Thomas Wade, is a well-rounded individual and a true West Virginian. He is just that. Kindhearted, respectful, honest, informative, trustworthy and that’s not something that you find every day. The whole family is just awesome! Christine his wife, Tom Jr, and Whitney his daughter will be the next predecessor auctioneer!!
I can not say in word how appreciative I am with all of them. Wade’s, made this process so much easier. Thank you, thank you and thank you! I couldn’t be more pleased with the entire process!
