  I went in the store to try on some shoes that my podiatrist recommended. A pair I tried on were over $200 and I wanted to think about them before buying them. I was bullied horribly by the man and woman who worked there because I didn’t buy them on the spot that day. So rude and disrespectful.

  Would not recommend for any shoe repairs. Dropped off a pair of flats to remove a lift on the left shoe and make it even with the right. I was told that it could be done. I paid $30 upfront and was told that there could be an additional $15 charge upon pickup. The repair was done within a few days. After picking up the shoes, I noticed that there was still a significant difference (> 1 centimeter) in the height of the left shoe. I had to return to the store again and was told that it would be an additional $45 to make the shoes even. I was also told that the difference wasn’t significant and that the shoes could be worn as is… The shoes are still unwearable (unless I want to risk a multitude of back and foot issues) and I now have $30 less.

  Robert owns Versailles shoes, and you can tell he loves what he does. I have very hard feet to buy shoes for. Robert takes the shoes I buy from him and fixes the shoes to fit my feet. I love that I can finally wear shoes that feel like slippers.

  I love this place! They don’t only sell shoes, they help you with your feet. The ball of my foot was getting sharp pains in it from time to time. She took my shoe in back and brought it back again having put a pad on my insole at the front of my arch that took pressure off the ball of my foot. They have numerous sales throughout the year and their customer service is really good. They’ve been around for years so they have a lot of experience. It’s like the old fashioned model where they actually help you find the best shoe for you. Not self serve. Check them out. You won’t regret it. On 9 Mack Drive in St Clair Shores. Plenty of free parking. UPDATE: Beware! Read the fine print. You only get 7 days with receipt for a refund. I came in on the 12th day. They not only would not give me a refund but when I used my store credit to buy some winter boots it left a $31 credit. Even then they wouldn’t give me change back. This REALLY leaves a bad taste in my mouth. No more trips across town. Too bad. When I purchased the shoes I mentioned I wanted to wear them inside to be sure that fit. The COURTEOUS thing to do would have mentioned their return policy but she didn’t.:(
