  I attempted to go here for lumber. I was building furniture. When I got there I walked in and asked for lumber (in reference of where to go). I normally go to lowe's and I was just trying out another avenue since I was next to the store as they have 4.8 stars, and I was eventually going to need to buy in bulk at some point for the amount of work I was doing. The gentlemen at the front desk I felt was not at all friendly. When I asked about the lumber I was not aware until mid conversation that we are not able to view the lumber and that someone will bring it up to the desk. He immediately said "what for?" I was taken back and honestly did not want to answer his question. I said for a project. He said "ok what project?" I said "a project," slightly getting irritated because I just wanted to know about the lumber. He then proceed to tell me that we can not view the lumber and the reason he was asking was that their material is raw and not sanded (which I was looking to buy raw lumber, nowhere did I mention sanded). I have all the materials to finish the lumber myself. He eventually did look to see if he had the lumber in stock but I already felt like a burden to have even asked. I would not go back there. Yes they sell lumber. Definitely geared towards building for homes or other large projects. As a DIY'er furniture builder I would not go back. Definitely an uncomfortable experience.

  Purpera donated a very large amount of lumber to Dutchtown High School’s Theatre Department for our spring show! We wanted to create a realistic and elegant set, but needed to be mindful of cost. Being a public school, we don’t receive funds to support our program and it costs a substantial amount of money to put on a production. We are so thankful for Purpera’s kindness and appreciation for the arts. This donation helped us tremendously and we will be able to reuse the lumber for future show sets!
