- CFCassie ForhanJul 24, 20212.0My husband rented a passenger van for a work event. After leaving the rental place he realized that the van's insurance was out-of-date. When he returned to the company to have this corrected, which they did correct but legally should not have rented it out without this being up-to-date, he mentioned to the company that the van was completely filthy inside and out. The company said that they hadn't had time to clean it, and he could go wash it himself (they did offer to pay for washing it). We just spent 2.5 hours washing the vehicle and attempting to make the inside somewhat acceptable. I don't know what the previous renters used this vehicle for, but the inside looks as if they drove for three days on a dirt road with the windows all open. There is so much dirt and dust on the inside that you would require hosing down the inside with a pressure washer to eliminate it (which we obviously did not attempt). The front license plate fell off while washing the car. The tires are twenty to thirty PSI under pressure. Bottom line, the vehicle they rented out does not seem safe to drive and is certainly unacceptable as far as cleanliness. The state of cleanliness is a complete pain, but honestly the lack of the company's regard for safety is my concern. At this point, it is too late to make any other arrangements, so fingers crossed the passengers and vehicle come through okay.
