I needed a head-style reduced drag link pin, CAT 1 & 2 for a modified HD JD / Frontier BB2184 7' box blade. This is and older model. I looked for these pins on line for hours. When I found what I thought was correct, nobody would give me the specs or they just said, "we don't have that information." Others at actual dealerships tried to sell me bushings and reducers and pins that weren't even the right length. I actually contacted four different JD dealerships in my area for assistance. The fifth one went the distance, contacting the manufacturer directly to get me the specific information I needed to make a decision. Lex in the parts department was OUTSTANDING! He took the numbers I'd found, researched the parts, [this was not ever a "John Deere" part. These pins were common pins manufactured for dual CAT 1 & 2 equipment as "common hardware" that nobody stocks anymore.]. He found them, and then took the time to get the specs direct and then called me and we worked it out on paper. After identifying that they would work, I called him back and had the parts headed my way on a drop-ship, which took all of about five minutes with a credit card. I'll tell you this much, if you're not sure which part will work, or you're not exactly sure if you've got the right component, this guy Lex, he'll be more than happy to help you. I thanked him profusely for taking the time to help me out and you know what he said, "...this is my job, we try to do whatever we can to get the customer the right part every time as fast as we can..."
Unbelievable in this day and age, but truth be told, this parts department at THIS John Deere dealership IS customer-service orientated and committed. You will not go wrong here. Thanks to Lex for getting my equipment back up and working!
