Located just seven miles from the west entrance to Glacier National Park, Under Canvas Glacier offers travelers a one-of-kind, upscale, outdoor experience in Montana’s “Big Sky Country.” Recognized as a ‘Top 20 Resort in the U.S. – Pacific Northwest & West’ by Condé Nast Traveler, Under Canvas Glacier is designed in close connection to the surrounding wilderness, offering easy access to the park’s 700 miles of trails to breathtaking alpine lakes, rugged snow-capped peaks, and wildflower-covered meadows.
We enjoyed a wonderful experience at Under Canvas Glacier. The tents with private bath were spacious, comfortable, charming, and just the right level of clamping for two 65+ year olds! The food at Embers was good, and the service from all the staff was excellent and friendly. The nighttime trains might pose a challenge for some, but they didn't bother us. The wooded location was also cozy and private.

We were in a safari tent with the private bath. The space was ideally tucked in the back of the campground and seemed a bit quieter then the tents closer to the lobby tent. It was a unique camping experience and provided us with everything we needed after day activities in Glacier. While the campground does not have wifi, our Verizon service worked fine to connect and watch shows on the iPad at night.
The staff were excellent. We did not encounter anyone who didnt go above and beyond with our questions and requests. We enjoyed our time here and plan to stay at other Under Canvas locations.
I know some people complain about the train but it didnt bother us and the entire town hears the train all night. The campground does provide earplugs that I thought was nice.

Comfortable and spacious tent, great food at the café, and friendly staff who were all well informed and super helpful. The train noise was a little loud but the provided earplugs helped a lot. Very happy with our stay!

This was a good way for two non-campers to enjoy a semi-camping experience. Over our 10-day Wyoming-Montana travels, it was the best sleep we experienced, because of the setting and the very comfortable bed. Host Gabriel was welcoming, informed, and helpful. The setting was ideal, and it was convenient to Glacier Nat'l Park. We recommend it and would look forward to staying again.

I’ve been to Under the Canvas in the Grand Canyon, which was spectacular. The one near Glacier Park was much less desirable. It is very, very loud, being located near a busy road and trains that blare their horns all day and night. It’s nearly impossible to sleep. The food was much, much better at the Grand Canyon also. The tent itself though was spectacular, though.
