We felt like royalty when we stayed with Under Canvas at the Columbia River Gorge. The service was impeccable and really made us feel special. The food we ordered was very good. It was chefy and on the gourmet side which we really liked. There are different activities daily so you can get as involved as you want. You can also choose to not get involved and just have peace and serenity. The fire pits are large with chairs and blankets. There are endless s'mores to enjoy at the fire pit as well. There's cushioned seating under shade sails and we enjoyed live music when we were there. There's also a cornhole game that you can play outside and it is fun. There are telescopes and games inside the lobby that you can use. Our dog was very welcome here as long as she was on a leash. We walked the property and it was about a mile. We did not do any excursions because we live nearby and we can do those anytime. A lot of people went to wineries, alpaca farms, they went into the town of White Salmon, and they did some hiking. For us, we wanted to relax and that's what we did. The beds were very comfortable and there is a propane heater if you go in the winter to keep you warm. They also have hot water bottles to keep you warm. We are definitely going back and maybe even make this a yearly event. If you want to be treated like a royalty, enjoy nature, stare at Mount Hood in all of its Glory, or even drive around in the Mount Adams area and see that magnificent mountain, then you should come to Under Canvas in the Columbia River Gorge.

We have 160 of our friends and family stay at Under Canvas for our wedding weekend in August. To say that it was an amazing experience would be an understatement. Not only was it the best weekend of our lives but I think many of our guests feel the same way. The place is so thoughtfully designed. We had many guests who had never glamped before and had initial concerns about the experience and then left wanting to do it again. The staff is truly one of a kind. They could not have been more helpful, accommodating, and just joyful. We were a really big group with a lot of specific needs and a packed schedule full of meals and activities and they were unwaveringly supportive and fun to work with. They thought of everything from smores in the evening to cold towels for the hot afternoons. They made our guests feel so comfortable and cared for. And to top it all off the views of Mt Hood are spectacular. Having our friends and family be able to gather in such a beautiful place and spend so much quality time together was so unbelievably special. We cannot say thank you enough.

Our stay was magical at Under Canvas! We wanted a camping experience but with modern comforts & Under Canvas delivered. The tents were well appointed with comfortable beds, a lovely fireplace, full bathroom, & breathtaking views of Mt. Hood. You are away from it all, & can unplug. The stars are amazing, you can see the entire Milky Way. The main lobby area had nightly music, S’Mores, food & drinks for purchase which were all delicious. The service was spectacular. Our 8 & 13 year old had the best time! Thank you Under Canvas for a magical experience!

We were excited to get away to try our first glamping trip. Upon first arrival the staff seemed nice and the views were great. Then we got into our tent. A Stargazer. I turned over the pillows and found dead bugs. Big ones. There were stink bugs crawling around the bed and about a hundred tiny flying insects that I couldn't identify. I thought the point of paying hundreds of dollars a night would be less bugs Inside the tent. We notified the staff. They apologized and offered to move us to another tent but at that point my trust was gone. We couldn't trust the cleanliness of the kitchen after that and you are not allowed to bring food. Fortunately we found a room across the river at the Best Western for a fair price. Under Canvas has refunded us for one night we booked. Since we were only there long enough to discover the bug infestation I feel we should get a full refund. So I haven't been able to recommend Under Canvas to anyone. Sorry.

This is not a typical hotel so it's not comparable to list this Under Canvas as a three star hotel. This was a five star glamping experience for us. For tents, the accommodations were comfortable. There's no electricity, wifi or HVAC, but there is running water for the bathroom, battery powered lamps, charging banks for electronics and a gas heater. The beds were comfortable and had extra blankets for cold nights. Sleeping in silence, complete darkness and slightly cold temps was actually very restful for me. I was impressed with how clean the tent and general facilities were because it's not easy to maintain when there's dirt, sand and rocks everywhere. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. They would arrive within a few minutes when we texted for assistance and went above & beyond during our stay. There's not much to do around the camp grounds during the day. Most guests leave for the day for hikes or other activities around White Salmon. There are camp ground activities at night (star bathing, smores, live music) and we spent the evenings around the fire pit. UC is also dog friendly. We brought our dog with us and there were 5 other dogs also staying with their families while we were there. The staff recommended dog friendly hiking trails and parks. We really enjoyed our stay and created some great vacation memories with our dog.
