Pet supply storeAquarium ShopPet Store
Back in 1985, Robert Wilson opened a pet store and named it after his beloved uncle, offering puppies and kittens for sale to local customers. Decades later, we are still family owned and deeply rooted in the central Indiana community. When most local residents think of where to find a new pet, Uncle Bill's Pet Center comes to mind. Lots of our customers grew up enjoying visits to our pet store, looking for puppies or kittens or a new fish for the aquarium, or just to enjoy the relaxed family atmosphere of the Indianapolis area's favorite pet store.Today, we still foster that family feeling in each of our six central Indiana locations. Even though some of our customers come from as far away as Chicago and Cincinnati to take advantage of our unmatched selection and quality, we love to build relationships and strive to make each of our stores a happy and uplifting place to visit. Come visit Uncle Bill's Pet Center and see the difference for yourself!

I’m so disheartened.Today my daughter and went to Uncle Bills. After spending time (less than 5 mins on average) with a few puppies, we were told we couldn’t see any others because we had already had time with “too many”. Wow-really? How sad. Bringing a puppy into our home is like adding another family member. Once we adopt him/her, they are ours for life. To be told we can’t spend time with other puppies to find a good fit, see how they respond to us as we assess how we respond to them was shameful to me….as if we were trying on dresses. I can’t support a place that doesn’t see the importance of the connection factor. Uncle Bills lost a sale, a good customer, and confirmed the rumors I had heard about it being a “puppy mill”.

We occasionally stop by pet stores just to look at the fish or play with a puppy for a few minutes. We have tried this location a couple of times. Our family can’t have pets of our own, and our kids really enjoy the experience — it’s a small way to bring them some joy. That said, the store atmosphere is just not welcoming. It feels like customers are viewed with suspicion rather than kindness. There are multiple signs warning about facial recognition and constant surveillance, which really creates an uncomfortable vibe. We fully understand the need for security, but the way it’s presented makes it hard to feel relaxed or welcome while browsing. We’re always respectful and never take advantage of the space, but the energy here is cold and uninviting. It’s unfortunate, because it could be a fun place for families — but instead, it feels more like walking into a bank vault than a pet store. Hope they reconsider how they present their policies and treat their guests. A friendlier tone could make a big difference.
