Great food, pricey though, with small portions, so expect to either pay a lot to get full, or eat more food when you're home. Service was a bit slow on Mon night at 7, took at least 20 minutes to get two rolls, and then another 20 to get two nigiri. Good ambience for socializing though, lively vibe. Loved the hamachi kama, although I didn't care for strawberry gatrique.. Sweet on fish doesn't work for me.

Phenomenal sushi, and great service, they make the most with good indoor ambience in a suburban strip mall setting, but the food is next level and well worth it… Easy to see why it was so busy even on a Sunday at happy hour!

This place was recommended but we were unimpressed by the food that was served here. We were a party of three and had about 10 dishes. Too dark and very slow service. The salmon sashimi belly was really thin, the thickness is equivalent to one slice of Smoked Salmon that you’d get at grocery stores. The taste was weird. The sauce for this dish was plain yoghurt with some acidic purée, really weird. The Blue Fin Tuna was ok. Sauce was chopped garlic and jalepeno slices. We had a lettuce wrap sushi that has Wagu beef slice (couldn’t visually see) red peppers and with rice paper wrapped over the lettuce. Unimpressed. The Unagi was really small with rice that was half a teaspoon size. The bowl of Japanese rice was $4. Hmm… Salmon Roe sushi was great but again, the size was pathetically small. One teaspoon of rice wrapped around this rice was not crunchier seaweed. The soft crab sushi was good, well seasoned. No complaints on this. The best dish was this next dish, the Wagyu beef on hot stone, six pieces for a whopping $22. The 2nd best dish was the S’mores dessert.a small scoop of vanilla ice cream printed with crushed graham crackers, with a reasonably sized brownie covered with good chocolate. Oh, one more ok sashimi was the Hamachi, ok thickness. One more thing, I asked about the Omasake, it was a 10 course 2 person meal at $380, we didn't order that.. The bill came up to $193. We gave them $40 tip even though the service was slow but the server was really good. I feel this place is just really hyped up. There were a lot of servers and the restaurant lighting is too low, too dark. I gave 2 stars because we were overall not impressed. I couldn’t find where to upload photos in this review here. I will try adding photos after.

Had an incredible time at Uchiko Austin — the Hama Chili (yellowtail with ponzu, Thai chili & orange supreme) was bright and bold, and the Tiger Cry roll (grilled wagyu, rice paper, charred green onion) blew me away. The grilled pork jowl with leeks and yuzu crème fraîche was creative and delicious. The ambiance is sleek, warm, and modern (Japanese farmhouse aesthetic), and the staff were polished and genuinely passionate — they walked me through their tasting menu options and gave excellent sake pairing suggestions. It felt like a special-occasion dinner done just right.

Wonderful, as usual! One of our favorite places for special occasions. We were on a regular date night and sat at the cocktail bar, and it did not disappoint! We had the happy hour Omakase and highly recommend it! It’s more than just items from the happy hour menu and we felt like it was such a deal because we had really great options and were BEYOND happy and full. My absolute favorite dessert is the jasmine cream. A crazy combo of textures and flavors that just somehow work and totally blow your mind in the most wonderful way. My husband had a seasonal dessert which was a coconut cream, popsicle, topped with passionfruit reduction, lime, zest, and charcoal salt. Unexpected and delicious!
