Girlfriend & I celebrated our one year together here - they really did an amazing job making our anniversary memorable. Food and ambiance was fantastic. They did a lot to accommodate my girlfriend’s allergy. Would highly recommend the fried milk!

Great concept, but disappointing experience. They were out of a good portion of the menu, the kitchen was very slow, and while the recipes were really good, some of our fish didn't taste the freshest.

Our experience was good and the food was also pretty good. We sat at the sushi bar for the Happy hour Omakase, but the view of the Chef was not the best. Chef David! Was very nice and focused in on providing us the food. We wanted to chat more but he was focused on providing us great service haha. All in all it was a great spot for a couples night.

I was a regular at the bar for many years, most of the time I got okay service but not the best. Towards the end I would always get this short Asian bartender who would always ask me about my finances, he treated white people with much more respect. He kept telling me I should save my money and he even suggested a sushi place that was much cheaper. Despite him having seen me eat there many times and spending 200-300 and tip 20-40%. It felt more like he was projecting his own insecurities and felt like he had to upsize me. I really regret continuing to go back when I knew I wasn’t welcomed there. It shouldn’t matter if I was a millionaire or if it was the last of my money I was spending at the restaurant, it wasn’t going to affect him in anyway. And being told how to spend my money by someone that doesn’t know me and that I didn’t ask for financial advice is disrespectful and rude. I much rather go upstairs to uchiba, everyone is for the most part more polite.

After having tried both Uchiko and Uchibā (Uchi sister restaurants) in Austin, we had to try Uchi in Dallas. It did not disappoint. We had the “somakase” which is a cool little option they have if you want to try multiple things but are worried that the chef’s tasting may be too little or too much food but also don’t really want to make decisions. Essentially the way it works is that your server will choose dishes for you based on your hunger level, budget, and preferences. You can do as many or as few as you’d like and if there is something you really like you can just ask for more of it. The service at the Uchi restaurants is always top notch and we love how everyone works together as one cohesive unit marking the service appear seamless from the delivery of the dishes to the clearing of plates and ensuring your beverages are always full. The food is timed perfectly so that the wait between courses is neither too long or too short. Empty plates are taken immediately after you have finished so that they are not sitting on the table for long periods of time. Service is smooth, efficient, and friendly and never seems cold or rushed. The food makes this one of our favorite restaurants to dine in as we always thoroughly enjoy our meals here. The food is based in Japanese cuisine with interesting twists and flavor combinations. Overall an excellent experience.
