Turning Leaf did a great job on hardscaping and landscaping for our new house in Bethany Beach, including installing a new sprinkler system. Highly recommend.
Frequently Asked Questions About Turning Leaf Landscapes
What are the best plants for the beach?
Considering the weather and salt water, the best plants are native plants in our area. Call us for additional details!
Do I need irrigation?
Yes, we strongly encourage an irrigation system. Your plants and sod will establish at a must quicker rate and grow much faster and healthier with an irrigation system.
How do I maintain my new landscape?
See our maintenance page for services that we provide to help maintain your new landscape. We specialize in installing, designing, and maintaining landscapes.
How do I choose what type of watering application for sod vs plants?
We recommend the low-pressure drip around your plants for direct watering to the root and you do not want water on your leaves as it causes mildew. For grass, you need full coverage with a rotor overspray for your turf and sod areas.
When is the best time to fertilize my trees and scrubs?
As we come out of winter and the trees are starting to leave dormancy, it is when they are taking the most nutrients from root to plant.
Why do I need permeable pavers?
Many towns in the beach area are now requiring a ratio of permeable to nonpermeable to help with water-shed and reduce runoff.
Can I have tropical plants in Delaware?
Yes, we can install and maintain palm trees and tropical plants. A few species can potentially live year-round. Call for more information!
