The staff that gives you the orders has very poor service, poor treatment, taking more than 30 minutes to deliver an order that wastes time.
Not impressed with the service as a paying customer. Me and my wife won’t be back!
Been here 1 million times my wife gets a to go order she’s waiting forever. They say that it was stolen her food. No the blonde young lady didn’t make it.Then when she gets it wrong missing it’s missing bread and they literally gave her two lousy tiny strips of brisket. Will be going to Bill Miller’s and giving our money to another establishment who is actually diligent and cares about paying customers. !!!
Came in for a quick lunch break and had some questions about the menu, the lady upfront was very polite and knowledgeable. She really made my experience painless and helped me narrow down what type of sandwich I should try, if you ever have any questions look for Peyton she is the best! This is the type of hospitality HEB is known for!!
I almost gave five stars but there were a few things that prevented that. My husband ordered the El Jefe, and it was very good, especially the brisket, but the sausage seemed a little under cooked and was difficult to bite through, so that made eating the sandwich unnecessarily messy. I ordered the Burnt End Mac and cheese sandwich. Again, the brisket, or burnt ends, were delicious melt in your mouth, but the Mac made it very sloppy and messy. If you get this one, best to have it cut in half. We also tried the creamed corn which was not that good. It wasn't very creamy and seemed kind of old. I did appreciate the pickles and onions, those pickles are so good, we buy them by the tub usually. That banana pudding though, oh my goodness. It was very creamy with pieces of real banana and wafers. Highly recommend you at least go here for the dessert. I'm still dreaming about that banana pudding.
Not a good outcome. Slowly, HEB has changed the True Barbeque menu and the food is not good. All of the original side items have been removed or recipes changed and the food doesn't taste the same. HEB changed all of the cobbler recipes and now the peach cobbler is made with dough when it was originally made with a nice light fluffy cake. The cake version was the best. The new version has a lot of salt, which is yuck. HEB is slowly changing True barbecue food to instant grocery tasting food! We gave it another chance and bought food from them last week and the sides were just awful. I ordered a sandwich and was told that they could not add cheese? Weird, I'll pass and I will not be eating at this restaurant anymore. I was so surprised that I could not get my sandwich made to my liking. Dissapponted and miss the old menu and old recipes. I use to really like True Barbeque.
