Caution! I believe Google Reviews are important for the public. My emotions say to rank the Trek Store a “1” but a level headed review is a “3”. A consumer should be able to walk into a Trek store and trust the service recommendations. Based on my experience, I will not step foot in a Trek owned bicycle store again. I purchased a new Domane SL5 from Trek on 10-15-24. The purchase of the bike was seamless and friendly. Since the bike had been on the shop floor for a period of time, the tire sealant dried at the bottom of the tire which required me to buy two new tires due to uneven weight distribution. I did not figure out what was causing the wobble (dried sealant) until Spring of 2025 so I ate the cost. As part of the purchase, the buyer receives a “free” Level 1 Service Package within one year of purchase. On September 21,2025, I took the Domane to the Trek store for my Level 1 Service package ($99 cost). By the time the mechanic was done assessing the bike, the charges totaled $318. With the $99 credit, my cost was $219. I was told I needed a new chain (which it did not) and that the hydraulic brakes needed to be bleed (I really don’t know since this is my first experience with hydraulic brakes but I have had no issues with braking). Based on the recommendation of the chain replacement, misc other stuff and replacement of bar tape (still has another year of use), I suspect my brakes are fine. I did not get the service done because of the "up selling" of stuff that was not needed. Going in for a "free" adjustment to $318 total cost (my share was $219) is very disappointing.
