  Trek Bicycle Gainesville Robert McVeigh is what I like most about Trek Bicycle in Gainesville, Florida. He’s the Manager at that store and was generous with his time and knowledge. I used to get around Miami by bicycle because you can take them on the bus or the train. However, I spent the past 4 years caring for my 90 year-old mother with dementia in Kokomo, Indiana. She passed away quietly and peacefully on February 12th of this year. After my obligations were fulfilled there I moved back to Florida, landing this time in Gainesville. Now that the majority of my grieving process is behind me, I’m ready to become active and start living again! I started my search for a new bicycle at Trek Bicycle on NW 13th St. in Gainesville. Robert was so knowledgeable and helpful that I found myself taking a test ride on a Verve 2 and I fell in love with it! I had a Beach Cruiser in Miami with 29” wheels and knew that I wanted 29” wheels again but was open to the type of bike I wanted. After enlightening Robert to my desire for 29” wheels, I told him that I wanted to ride upright like I did when I was riding a Cruiser. Robert walked me over to the Verve 2 and explained that it’s a hybrid - like a cross between a Cruiser and a Mountain Bike. After my test ride I knew that this was the obvious next step for me. What impressed me about Robert was just how well he handled other business and customers the whole time he was helping me and never seemed stressed or put out in any way. That is a rare quality when someone can multi-task and still make you feel that your business is important. I felt so comfortable there that, after doing my research, I came back a week later and bought the Verve 2 and just about every accessory you can for that model! Then I bought a KUAT bike rack for the hitch I have on my car. I like the products and the culture they have at Trek but most of all, the service is 2nd to none! I’m a fan now and feel confident about my choice of becoming a Treky! Lol!   Highly recommend! I was only a bike rider during my adolescent years but decided to get a bike so we can create a new family activity with our growing 2 year old who is very into bike riding. I came to the store with no clue what I should buy and they recommended a hybrid bike and a front-mounted child seat. Now I have been riding with my son for a few weeks. I am totally obsessed with it. So glad I came to this store. Though the bike order and trying out different models took a while, I am so impressed by how friendly and knowledgeable the staff are. Special thanks to Rob for patiently working with me to fit the bike into my small car!

  HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TREK STORE. Rob and Bennett were outstanding and very friendly when it came to helping me, probably the best help I have gotten from a bike store. I brought them my canyon speedmax which needed a few things done to it and they took their time and answered all of my questions

  I called Trek Bicycle in Gville this morning and asked if I could stop by for a quick look at my recently purchased trek bicycle from them to see if there was a quick adjustment that could be done to fix a minor problem. The person told me that they could take a look today. So I rode my bike 5 miles to get it checked out. When I arrived, the person behind the counter (probably not the one who I talked to on the phone) told me they could not look at it today. I asked if I could drop it off next week and get it checked out and he initially said they could have it back in 24 hours. He then backtracked and said he could not guarantee he could have it back in 24 hours given that he may have other bikes in the queue. I asked if I could make an appointment and he said they do not take appointments. I then indicated that this really is not a good business model and asked him if he ever heard of Gator Cycle that did make appointments. He then told me that I was rude. I have not had this experience before with any other bike shop. I will say that everyone else in that shop has been very nice over the years, this particular experience wasw unepected and disappointing. Although I have had Trek bicycles for years, I am likely not going back to Trek.

  They have a great selection of bikes and accessories, and have a very robust service for all customers. Will shop here again.
