Horrible food.
I came here expecting exquisite dining and a beautiful open-doors environment, but what the reviews didn't mention was the lack of awning.
Any good restaurant has solutions for a rainy day night out. This is not a good restaurant.
Don't get me started on the food. Tangy and metallic, the food wasn't even filling. I found the leathery dish they claimed was imported from China to be palatable, but I really wasn't a fan of the fluffy filling.
I swear, venues nowadays can't help but ruin every good thing.
I was also disappointed at the type of clientele that seem to frequent this shady joint. People kept coming by with their *own dishes*, apparently storing them for some scheme or later plans? The managers of this establishment certainly know what the intentions of these cretins are, for not only do they turn a blind eye at the comings and goings, but they actively protect this food until the delinquents return.
More concerning than the strange activities, though, were the looks of confusion and hostility. More than a few of the visitors tried to film me eating, which I quickly shut down by reminding them there was no media rights clause in the reservation fine print. Still, I felt judged, which only fueled my body image issues. If Talmage Bike Rack wants to start expanding their patronage, I suggest they start changing the culture present among the regulars.
In summary, this is one of the worst eateries I have ever visited. I do not recommend. However, if you're in a pinch and can't think of any other restaurants to take your date to that won't completely empty your back account, it at least provides food. Given its ability to serve its purpose, no matter how poorly, I thus cannot in good conscience give it anything below two stars.
