Virginia Landing RV Campground is a rural, secluded RV campground in Virginia, tucked between the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. During open season, the campground is greatly impacted by coastal weather with pleasant sea breezes. Virginia Landing is an excellent RV camping destination for those who desire peace and quiet.
Featuring it's own clamming areas, this shorefront preserve also offers the opportunity to get back to nature with amazing sunrises, sunsets and starry nights! At Virginia Landing RV Campground, we are known for the view that overlooks Hog Island Bay, the landing place of some of this country's earliest settlers. Chincoteague is a neighboring town that is home to the famous Misty of Chincoteague and the annual Pony Swim.
The seasonal campers played VERY loud music ALLLLLLLLLL day and very late into the evening. We couldn't play music on our site because we couldn't hear it. I finally had to ask then to turn it down at 10pm just so we could sleep.

The place is definitely off the beaten path but the drive is beautiful, with lots of deer, so take it slow. The campsite is clean and has great views of the water. Our site was in the trees and very nice.
Being so far back is a downside if you need a store, forgot something or need quarters for laundry like I did. The office doesnt provide quarters, or fire rings which was a bummer as we had just got some smores stuff for the kids as it was our last campground on our two week trip.
The pond seemed too dried up for the kids to fish but they tried anyway with no luck. However the campground cant be blamed on what I'd assume is lack of rain.
The bathhouses are large and laundry room was the best one we have seen yet. We had to cut our stay short and the staff was super great about it and even welcomed us to stay for their labor day cookout before we left. Which was very nice.

This is one of the nicer Thousand Trails parks if you like a rustic campground. It is very serene and the staff here is very accommodating we will be back!
