Great experience from start to finish! I was a little concerned that my dress was arriving at end of August for my mid October wedding, but The Wedding Seamstress immediately put my mind at ease. I called about a month before and was easily able to get an appt on the books for the beginning of September. Everyone was super sweet and professional, and my alterations (bustle and hem) ended up taking about 3-4 weeks and was ready with time to spare! The work was well done and my dress fit perfectly. Highly recommend!

I recently had my dress altered at The Wedding Seamstress. From first impressions, the shop is outdated and very tacky. Black walls with fuchsia pink accents, and early 2000s decor. During the appointments, staff were mostly off-putting, and gave the impression that they’d rather be anywhere else. I never once got a name of someone helping me. They didn’t bother to introduce themselves. If you’d like to feel even a slight bit pampered or special, this is NOT the place for you. Appointments felt rushed, no refreshments offered, and no small talk. I wasn’t asked a thing about the wedding, my dress was never complimented etc. They didn’t even help me into my dress, help get it off, or help hang it up when we were finished. I’m still unsure why I had to have three separate appointments, as the second one was a complete repeat of the first. All of these appointments were with different people, none of whom seemed to have communicated with the one before. It was all increasingly disorganized. During my final appointment, many things that we had talked about in my other two appointments were missing, or done incorrectly. They had to have two different staff members come out from the sewing room to fix things on the spot. The first woman was so incredibly rude that I found it hard to not say something. The owner was truly no better. I was left open-mouthed multiple times by how she spoke to my mother and I. She is snappy, rude, and truly shouldn’t be customer-facing.
They left my $5000 dress with TWO layers of bra padding, and when I told them it was uncomfortable, they basically told me that they could do a rush job fixing it that day, or nothing. I will have to rip these out and sew new ones in myself, as me wedding is very soon.
They also misplaced my veil, which took them over 20 minutes of track down. Had I not remembered that it was dropped off with my dress, I would have left it there. The owner rudely let me know that they simply “don’t lose things, they do 2000 weddings a year.” That may be true, but it was clearly misplaced. Drop off paperwork that stated what I was leaving with them wasn’t filled out until my pickup appointment, so there wasn’t even any history of the veil being there in the first place. A bit sketchy.
All in all, they did what was needed, but not in the way I asked for or discussed with all of these different stylists in my appointments. I was left disappointed, and feeling talked down to.
Although the alterations were done, they don’t look as high end as I was hoping, and they weren’t done in the way I asked them to be. That, and the customer service alone are both reason enough to look elsewhere.

Better late than never! The wedding seamstress is the place to go for all alterations. Deedee and her entire team are absolutely phenomenal. I came in with two wedding dresses and didn't quite know which one I wanted to wear for my wedding day. Deedee and her team empowered me to make the best decision and filled me with such confidence. Deedee had such an amazing eye and assisted with the best tweaks to make me feel like the most beautiful bride. Additionally, I had my mother-in-law as well as my bridesmaids go to the wedding seamstress. With each individual, her team made them feel special and seen. As a member of the LGBTQ community, I would highly recommend the wedding seamstress as this business is completely inclusive and wonderful! I looked forward to each appointment. By the end of the experience, they truly became family. I cannot praise them enough!
I truly wouldn't recommend The Wedding Seamstress to any brides. Every visit left me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. There was confusion with how my bustle was done — they completely changed the original plan without reaching out to confirm or discuss it, and then couldn't figure out how to bustle it the way they had altered it. Honestly, that part wasn't even the biggest issue; the problem was how they handled it. Instead of acknowledging or helping resolve the mistake, they were defensive and made me feel like I was the problem.
The overall environment just felt bad - tense, uninviting, and unprofessional. The staff's attitude made every appointment stressful, and the whole place gave off an uncomfortable, almost dismissive vibe. By the end, I just wanted to get out of there. It's not any cheaper than other bridal shops, so l'd strongly recommend saving yourself the stress and going elsewhere for a more enjoyable experience.

DO NOT use this shop for alterations or dress-making. I have no idea why they have so many 5-star reviews. They must be fake. I am not someone who takes the time writing reviews for establishments even when I have a bad experience but this time it felt important to save other people from the experience my daughter and I had. I have 3 daughters getting married in a 10 month period and the experience with The Wedding Seamstress was terrible compared to the establishments my other two daughters have had. The shop is environment is trashy, outdated and very uninviting and the dressing rooms are painted black with terrible lighting. More importantly the owner Deedee is unprofessional, fake and rude. We also witnessed her being unsupportive and rude to her own employees. My daughter ultimately did get her dress altered at the shop and it worked out fine, but the wedding alterations process should be nothing but a positive and exciting experience for a bride. There’s not enough time to detail everything that happened with our visits, but the experience all three times we were there was negative, uncomfortable and completely unenjoyable. We should have found a different shop.
