  Rebuttal Review: As a long-time customer of The Wallpaper Co., I felt I needed to chime in after reading this review. I want to offer a different perspective because I have always felt nothing but welcome and respected in this store. For context, I am a Hispanic, gay, disabled veteran—and inclusivity matters deeply to me. I’ve been shopping here for years, even before their recent expansion, and I have never once felt judged or dismissed. In fact, I’ve always been greeted warmly, treated professionally, and guided through projects with patience and care. Most recently, they wallpapered my laundry room and the results were fantastic—exactly what I envisioned. It’s important to note that the store has recently expanded and hired a number of new employees who are still in training. From my experience in business and customer service, sometimes “green” employees may not yet have the confidence or polish of seasoned staff. That doesn’t mean ill intent—it just means they’re still learning. I can see how a first impression might not have come across perfectly, but I truly believe what was perceived here was inexperience, not exclusion. In fact, Marvin and others on the team have always gone above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, respected, and valued as a customer. This company has built its reputation on service, quality, and community—and I’ll continue to be a loyal supporter because they’ve consistently earned that trust.

  I’m genuinely torn between giving 5 stars and 1 star, so I went with 2, strange, I know, but hear me out. I’ve been meaning to write this review for over a month, and something told me tonight was the night. I recently moved to Arizona, bought a large home, and started working on a wallpaper project for our office. My husband, our two toddlers, and I (a POC family, not that it should matter, but maybe it does) walked into this shop with excitement. As soon as we walked in, we were met with blank stares from three employees (a young white woman, a middle-aged white man, and a young white man). No greeting, no welcome, just awkward silence. I approached the young woman and explained what we were looking for. She vaguely pointed around the store while sitting and basically left us to figure it out on our own. We wandered around, clearly lost and unsure, and felt incredibly unwelcome, almost as if we were being questioned “what the hell were we doing in such a cute luxury wallpaper store”. If looks could kill that would be the words to describe that experience. Maybe that wasn’t the intent, but it felt that way, and I nearly walked out, disappointed and discouraged. We were getting ready to walk out. Just as we were about to leave, another staff member, who was not at the front desk initially, came out of nowhere. Martin (possibly Hispanic 🌈🥰) appeared. He made eye contact with me, smiled warmly, walked up to us and instantly changed everything. He asked what we were working on, listened attentively, walked through ideas with us, and even showed us how a wallpaper design would look in our office by showing us the black and gold bathroom wallpaper in the store. He made us feel seen, heard, and respected. The anxiety I felt at the start completely melted away. Martin is the only reason I would ever return. He was knowledgeable, kind, and above all, human. First impressions matter deeply, and while my initial experience was incredibly off-putting, Martin’s professionalism and warmth saved it. If Martin isn’t already the manager, promote him. Immediately. This could have been a glowing 5-star review, but that initial interaction left a mark. Martin, if you’re reading this, you probably didn’t realize it, but thank you for being a safe space! You truly rock. 💫

  If you're on the hunt for some great wallpaper this is the place for you! Such a cute place and such nice people. Thank you Kristen for all of your time.

  I went to your store looking for something I thought I would never find. Kristen helped me find a beautiful pattern to match my bedroom and bathroom. I am absolutely thrilled. Thank you Kristen!!!

  Amy and Isabella were absolutely outstanding!! They went above and beyond and I left the store so hopeful and excited! Highly recommend this company- grateful for the service and products!
