So yeah, still a pretty lame store experience overall… went it to buy packing materials to package up something MY SELF… and all I wanted to buy was packing supplies..I ask the girl working behind the counter, can I purchase a small sized art box… to which she seemed confused and said they don’t have those… and proceeded to give me one or two different boxes that I’d not asked for, until finally she pretended to see an art box and brought me a box of the correct dimensions…. Yet still not what I asked for… mind you this whole 3 or 4 minute box search, both her coworkers are telling her, we do have art boxes, in small, medium, and large… and I’m just standing there wondering, what In world posses someone to ignore her coworkers becuase she doesn’t think they do, or has never used one… by the way, to the store owner, I’m fine with packaging my artwork with what I got, as I’m sure it’s up to standards, but keep in mind that it’s likely if your employees don’t use artboxs for insured artwork… alA GSR claim has a much bigger chance to get denied IF they aren’t using them… they are double walled, and side loading, as that’s a much safer packing method for art… so unless they are wasting 20 and 24 cubes with the double wall, I’d recommend you make sure they are all aware of your boxes carried.
But also what kind of service is that, it’s like if I went to a McDonald’s and asked for a double cheeseburger, and the employee there says what? We don’t have that, what you mean is a quarter pounder… ima go get you a quarter pounder… while the other employees are like what are you doing we definitely have double cheeseburgers….. like if I was sending it through you, sure I get it you’d need to pack it (though likely would still be incorrect if they didn’t use an art box) but for insurance and what not I get it… but just going in and buying packing supplies??? I get most ppl don’t know what they need or how to package stuff, but if someone comes in certain of what they are asking for , don’t act dumb and sell them what they are asking for… like seriously??? Can’t be this difficult to figure out how to provide even subpar service, because this is way under that..
ohh I’ll likely be in again, not expecting an attitude shift at all, but maybe just maybe, working with the customer, your coworkers, and yourself to figure out a problem together, not ignore everyone telling you that you’ve got something and you pretend you don’t… you’re not getting far with that sort of teamwork anywhere…
