  We love the Surfside. We’ve been staying for years as I have 2 children at Fairfield University!! Always so comfortable and clean. Beautiful waterfront and The Little Pub is an extra bonus!!! See you again soon.

  First the view was great! Upon arrival there was no one at the front desk. We called the number posted and no one answered so we walked over to the bar and found someone. We got settled went to supper and when we came back realized that the heater was not working. We were going to call the front desk with the room phone but it did not work. Called the number posted at the front desk again and again no one answered, so back down to the bar. We found someone and he came up and after 10-15 minutes had the heater working. There was a musty smell in the room as it had been closed up for a while. I guess for $300 we expected more so we are quite disappointed.

  Where to even begin when describing such a magical place? I fell in love with the Surfside as soon as I laid eyes on it last year. My now husband and I stayed last fall and got married here earlier this month. Jillian and the rest of the staff could not be more helpful, kind and friendly. Our wedding guests have done nothing but rave about their stay, the environment and how phenomenal the weekend was, all in large part to the Surfside. It will always hold a special place in our hearts and be somewhere we return to over and over again!

  I stayed in room 14. The view from the balcony is spectacular and the room is beautiful (two king beds). This hotel has it all. The staff is extremely friendly and on the ground floor there's a small but cozy gym and a room with coffee and snacks for guests. Downstairs there's a very convenient pub with very reasonable prices. The parking lot is really spacious, and the view from the room is truly unparalleled. Thanx

  I really can't say enough about this little gem on the sound. Typically I prefer bigger, chain hotels but there aren't a ton of those in the area and the ones I've tried are really just "eh". On the other hand, beachy hotels can be hit or miss. The Surfside Hotel exceeded every one of my expectations. First off, they are very communicative. They have limited man hours at the front desk but send texts and let you know what to expect about checking in and out (plus there's a number to call with any other issues during the stay - which we didn't need to use). The room is updated, light and cheery with great decor and beautifully clean bathrooms. Cleanliness is likely most people's priority and the room instantly gave me piece of mind. I had a balcony with chairs, which was nice to have even though it wasn't a direct sound front view. For the best view, I walked along the beach and shoreline watching the sunrise and enjoying the boats, the houses and exquisite rocks. Had a great happy hour at the attached Little Pub and enjoyed good food and drinks and conversation with locals and visitors. Oh, and The hotel's complimentary coffee is also quite good! All in all, we had a very cool weekend at the Surfside Hotel while visiting our son at SHU and look forward to staying again in the future.
