  Our group had an amazing experience at The Rockaway Hotel & Spa! From start to finish, the staff went above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome and taken care of. They were warm, professional, and incredibly responsive to our group’s needs. The rooms were comfortable, the food was delicious, and every meal felt like a treat. Coordinating for a large group can sometimes be tricky, but the team made everything seamless and enjoyable. We left feeling refreshed, well-fed, and genuinely appreciated. Highly recommend for group stays, retreats, or anyone looking for a relaxing getaway by the beach!

  I don't usually do this, but, unforgettable night, heat don't work, and I'm offered to either more blankets or tuck and roll. Did I just paid for a homeless shelter stayed?? man, never gotten so offensive before in any stay, I was nice enough to calmly ask for a refund, but instead, I get a if you choose to leave now, there's no guaranteed, it's on me. keep the money, best of luck!

  We had the most incredible wedding at The Rockaway Hotel! Our rooftop ceremony was absolutely stunning, followed by a beautiful cocktail hour on the Sun Deck, a perfect reception in the Harbor Room, and an amazing rooftop after-party. The entire experience was seamless from start to finish. I loved that the hotel had everything we needed — a place for our guests to stay and multiple spaces that gave each part of our event its own unique feel. On top of that, we received countless compliments on the food throughout the night — everything was truly delicious! My husband has a severe dairy allergy, and the chef and staff went above and beyond to make sure he was fully accommodated. They were extremely careful about cross-contamination and made sure he was well fed with safe and delicious options, which gave us such peace of mind. There isn’t a single thing we would change. Our Maître D’, Jay, was phenomenal and ensured every detail was taken care of. Maura, Margo, and Erika and all the staff were also incredible to work with throughout the planning process and on the big day. We are so grateful to the entire team for making our wedding better than we ever imagined!

  Update- management reached out after I left this review and committed to improve the issues I raised. I updated my review to 3 stars based on this. Original review: Our bedsheets and one of our bath towels both had small stains on them that looked like blood. There are no phones in the room so it was hard to get in touch with the front desk to fix it. I could see how housekeeping missed small stains, but similar stains on items I assume are cleaned separately was unsettling. They’ll nickel and dime you for everything; $25 for checkout at 12 pm instead of 11 pm and $10 for a water bottle. Many guests were partying on the balcony until 1 am which made it impossible to sleep. Housekeeping loudly knocked on the door in the morning despite us having the do not disturb sign on. You have to walk up a flight of stairs to get to the lobby and the doorman did not help with luggage. Overall just not worth the price for the experience. Ocean view is nice but not all rooms have an unobstructed view of it.

  From the moment I arrived at The Rockaway Hotel, I felt truly welcomed. Darren, the manager, received us with such warmth and hospitality—he gave us the best option while we waited for an early check-in, made us feel right at home, and walked us through all the amenities with a great smile and genuine kindness. David at reception is a real standout too! I first spoke with him when making reservations to join my daughter’s birthday celebration. He had to get creative with splitting the reservation and booking an additional room. Later, when I called back to ask about veteran or AARP discounts, David let me know that he had made a mistake with my reservation. Instead of brushing it off, he humbly acknowledged it, left a note for Darren, and promised to personally follow up to correct it. Sure enough, while I was sitting in the lobby waiting for my room, David came right over to me—“You must be Mayra”—to let me know everything had been resolved and that my room would be ready shortly. His humility, humanity, vulnerability in being accountable for his error, and his genuine care left a lasting impression on me! The overall vibe of the hotel is so welcoming and restorative. Even though the rooftop was technically closed (it was a Monday), I was still able to enjoy the views and tranquility, taking my meetings up there in total peace. Darren and David, you two are a dream team. Because of you, I know The Rockaway Hotel will be my go-to escape multiple times a year. Thank you for making my stay so memorable! I travel a lot, and my one-night stay at The Rockaway Hotel was honestly the loveliest hotel experience I’ve ever had. This was my first time here, and what makes it truly special are the staff—their warmth, professionalism, and genuine care make all the difference. Liz at the spa took her time to make sure I had the best possible experience, going above and beyond to make me feel welcome and cared for. Jess was so compassionate and accommodating, walking me through their very thorough medical questionnaire and ensuring my needs were met, even though I was only staying for one day. Jenean, the massage therapist, is an absolute gem—her skill and spirit are otherworldly. And Thomas—what can I say? He noticed I didn’t need my late checkout after all and reversed the charge without me even asking. He also worked closely with my daughter over email to make sure her birthday surprise was perfect. When she walked into the room and saw the decorations and her cake, she said it was exactly what she wanted. Honestly, that cake was the best I’ve ever had! Thomas even took the time to check in with her personally, which meant so much. The Rockaway Hotel is beautiful, but it’s the people who make it exceptional. I’ll absolutely be back—especially for their Winter Wonderland experience!
