When I was eight years old, I stayed here with my mom. It was one of the few times we took a trip together, and it meant so much to me that she picked this hotel because of how much I love ducks. At the time, the hotel had duck shaped soaps and bath bombs in the room we stayed in. I took them home and felt that they were so special to me I would save them for the most special event in my life; my wedding day. While the soap was unfortunately eaten by our dog years ago, I managed to actually keep this bath bomb. So when we got married last year at the end of the day, I let the bath bomb fizz in our sink. (Out of fear of putting 15+ year old bath bomb on my skin) anyways, I wanted to share that story here to let people interested in staying here know that it’s a great place for kids and maybe you’ll have lasting family memories here! I hope to stay here again one day. Cheers!

We originally stopped in just to see the Famous Peabody Duck March. After stopping in, visiting the gift shop and one of their food outlets for some coffee, and the Duck March, we decided to go back to see the 2nd part around 5pm. We ended up running into the Duckmaster Kenon in one of the shops. After meeting him he invited us to sit at his reserved table in the lobby for the 2nd Duck March of the day. We had 2 of the Signature drinks at the lobby bar and enjoyed the rest of the event. Duckmaster Kenon was an amazing host and is the reason we will decide to revisit Memphis. Thank you for your Hospitality
The hotel itself is very nice. Staff, service and restaurants are great. However, we are very disappointed by the fact that we booked a Peabody Club room, off of your website, only to get here and find out that the floor was unavailable. We paid an extra $200 a night extra for something that did not exist. Apparently, ongoing renovations? There was an apparent turn down service that appears non-existent. It would have been nice to post this on your website. We paid for the convenience, not to have to get up, go downstairs and get the perks. What we were given was a little card where we could get up and go downstairs and get coffee, which anyone staying there can do. At check in they even tried to upsell us on a suite for another $100 a night. Basically, we paid $600.00 extra for nothing. Very Disappointed.

The hotel is lovely.
However the fact that they silently comply with the various carriage vendors who use their coveted curbside to park & solicit customers but — all the while never water those poor horses is criminal.
We arrived at the hotel seeing several carriages vendors, they had used those animals in several long carriage rides but parked them curbside outside the Peabody and as we spent many more hours dining & walking…. Those vendors had not watered those poor animals!!! And they admitted it while they grew angrier & aggressive when we kindly appealed to them to water those poor animals.
Yes, while the management of the Peabody say they “can’t do a thing those are city vendors” - that simply condones the animal abuse. Silence is compliance!
They could easily exert a request that if these vendors want to avail themselves to the highly desirable Peabody curbside & their customers, then they need to provide good, humane care for these poor creatures.
How horrible that these vendors abuse these animals…. And that The Peabody closes their eyes to it. Shame.

The staff is very friendly and welcoming which makes a great first impression. The lobby bar served excellent drinks and fun snacks and the history of the hotel is fascinating. The famous duck march is certainly a unique experience and worth seeing.
That said the hotel is clearly showing its age. The room itself was comfortable but the bathroom felt thrown together with paint over the hinges that squeaked every time you opened the door and some missing trim around the doorways. The curtain looked like something I used to have from Bed Bath and Beyond and the water from the tub spout came out brown likely from rust. Plumbing seemed to be an issue throughout the hotel. The ice maker near our room on the 6th floor was not working and there was a smashed in utility box nearby with exposed plumbing. In the gym, the free weights room looked like it had recently flooded with fans and mops everywhere which made it unusable. The hot tub jets did not work and the light in the tub was not mounted correctly. The pool was in very poor shape with grime and rust on mirrors and fixtures. The gym itself was below par with only a handful of ellipticals and controlled weight machines. It looks like it has not been updated in over 30 years. My thought would be to expand the gym where the pool is now and create a rooftop pool to modernize the experience.
We also tried room service and the food was below average. This is a historic property with lots of charm but the value just does not match the cost.
If you are drawn to hotels with history and significance this is the place but do not expect it to keep up with modern standards. It is certainly a nice central location for Memphis but next time I would probably look elsewhere.
