Our book club (nearly 40 members) hosted an event here, and unfortunately, it was the worst service experience we’ve had in over a year of organizing monthly events in Delaware.
• It took over an hour just to receive drinks.
• Many members had to order food online because service was so delayed.
• Our group of 40 was assigned just one server, which was nowhere near enough.
• We then waited an additional 1.5 hours for checks, with members having to go to the bar themselves to try to pay.
• I had arranged book-themed cocktails weeks in advance and kept the venue updated, yet the menus were never printed or prepared, despite multiple confirmations.
• Throughout the night, we asked the manager multiple times for help and sent complaints, but received no response or support. Meanwhile, bartenders stood by watching the chaos unfold instead of assisting.
This level of disorganization and lack of preparedness was extremely disappointing, especially for a large group that came ready to support the business. Honestly, I would have preferred to be told upfront that they could not accommodate us rather than go through such a negative experience.
We had hoped to leave a glowing review and establish a long-term relationship with this venue, but based on this experience, we cannot recommend it.
