Lied to us about the check out process, telling us that we didn't need to be there in person as long as we gave notice that we had moved out and that no walk-out was necessary. Boy was that a big, fat lie. We gave notice on the day of move-out, both by phone and by e-mail. No acknowledgement. Months later, we find out that we had been charged, not only for extra, unnecessary rent but also for extra, unnecessary days of utilities. No attempts to contact us were made, and we only find this out after a debt collection agency begins harassing my mother, the guarantor of our property. Attempts to contact the apartment complex regarding the debt were futile ("Hold on, my manager is busy but she will call you later" - stated 2 weeks ago with no call back). At the end of the day, we ended up having to give an extra $497.06 to IQ international. This is not the only grievance we have experienced with Maywood and its lackluster management. A year into our tenancy, we get surcharged an extra several hundred dollars for not having ample coverage for renter's insurance. Guess what? We were covered the whole time. Navigating the refund process for this spurious charge took months, and to be frank, I'm not actually convinced that we ever did get refunded for this. And then there's the apartments themselves. Kitchen vents don't work and stink up the apartment. The fire alarm is hypersensitive. The water pressure and temperature suck. One bedroom is always hotter than the other. Once a year, a fire goes off the the middle of the night (at 3-4 AM), blaring, screaming, unsympathetic to the plights of the new parents trying to get some shuteye and to the students who need their sleep to be ready for tomorrow's exam. And management's hands are tied. During one winter, the drywall in the ceiling ruptured, causing dust and whatever it is they keep in the ceiling to coat the apartment. We were the lucky ones, too - for our neighbors who also lived in the complex, they also suffered a similar experience, but it was so severe that they were forced to evacuate their apartment (by management). They were not given alternate lodging or reimbursed for their troubles. The place isn't even safe - there was a string of car break ins throughout my time here, and even my car got broken into. Numerous times I would take walk in the "super walkable location" and come across a homeless person rummaging through the trash. There was even an episode with a homeless man wandering through the parking garage threatening a young lady trying to go from her car to her apartment. All in all, I would wholeheartedly recommend not moving to this complex, especially when there's so many other good apartments in the area (literally across the street). You may find some reviews here praising the management, or the location, or the views. Well, management turnover is disturbingly high (peep their reply to this review), you can find other apartments in this exact location, and half the views are of the inside of the apartment complex (y'know, the view that's in the photos. They raise their rent prices every year, so the "value" in staying at the Maywood is dwindling too. Sure it's easy to move in, but good luck sticking around, and good luck trying to leave without getting fined. The people who posted positive reviews simply haven't been screwed over yet.

I’ve had such a great experience with Sheila, one of the managers at The Maywood. She’s always friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful whenever I’ve needed assistance. Whether it’s maintenance requests, questions about my lease, or just general concerns, she always takes the time to listen and make sure everything gets handled quickly and smoothly. Thank you for all your help Sheila!

Wish I could go lower than 0. Facilities/Common areas are not kept up with. Pool is never cleaned or maintained (pool was also just a fountain they converted into a wading pool). Gym in Phase I was gutted and most of the machines do not work in that gym. Moldy, Musty, and the AC does not work. The Homeless issue is by far the worst, and management refuses to actually do their job, and would rather their tenants contact the security team. There was an incident with a homeless person using a discarded mattress as a lean too, and upon contacting the front office was asked "did you contact the security team?" like it was my job. There was also an incident where they had broken into a car and stole sunglasses from a resident's car. I suspect there was also a homeless person living in the trash chute room on my floor at some point in time during my lease. Homeless people would rummage through the dumpster in Phase I's garage and would dump the trashcan outside by the double doors leading into Phase I to the point where management confiscated the trashcan. Sometimes walking around you would find evidence there was a homeless person walking around just from finding a bag of sandwhich bread just in the hallway (that would never get cleaned up by staff), or trash strewn around the elevators, or a homeless person sleeping beside the vending machines in Phase II. The bottom line is security is severely lacking at this apartment complex, and management refuses to do anything to remedy these glaring issues with safety. This apartment complex may as well be on Skid Row in LA with how trashed it is. Phase I's hallways are consistently dirty and never cleaned. Let us go over the apartment itself. Small, and overpriced for the headaches you are constantly seeing day in and day out. If the facilities and property look rundown and bombed out... imagine what is going on within the walls of this apartment you're looking at. I could not tell you how relieved I was to terminate our lease early, and move to a safer, cleaner, and more competently managed apartment complex. However, the moveout process was improperly handled by the leasing office (a reoccurring issue apparently) where after discussing the buyout in person with the front office (that they again mishandled). After completing our move out, we were notified by a debt collector they had sent us to collections for unpaid rent and utilities for the month of June when we had turned in the keys in May (thus ending our lease). After our move my fiance had gone to speak about getting charged additionally for June when we were not living there and had been told multiple times by the leasing office that it was going to be taken care of. Also they seemed to completely ignore the address of the new apartment we were moving to. I had disputed the debt with the debt collecting agency saying I was not notified or given an itemized receipt of what I had owed within 45 days (which is required by Oklahoma law), and upon my research to dispute the case I also discovered that CRHMI (the management company) is not even licensed to operate in the state. The debt collectors have since dropped the case, but its ridiculous that my move out and payments were so improperly handled by THIER leasing office that they falsely reported I owed money and sent me to collections. As for Core Realty Management, you guys should actually look into the properties you are investing in, and maintain the property instead of just assuming this is some turnkey operation for your company based out of Newport Beach, California.

Like many others I am having payment issues that I've never had anywhere else before. I pay with a bank account and the receipt that comes back shows a different bank acct confirmation number, but bank statements show the exact payment amount went through with correct number. Their response was to blame Chase bank not their own accountant. I called the accountant as per manager instructions and never recieved a call back. Management has been unresponsive for a month and given me different answers. Now my online portal is locked and they want me to pay by cashiers check for 6 months, despite communication that the late fees and account lock would be removed. Ever since Core Reality purchased the Maywood in OKC their management has been abysmally unprofessional and borderline criminal. Do not rent from this company. 10.2.25 The office staff mentioned above have seemingly been fired. Thats the fourth set in the 4 years I lived there. I hold no hope for the next set. Thankfully, I have moved out and no longer have to suffer living there. Please trust the bad reviews, its not worth your peace of mind. Also the building quality is terrible and there will always be noise complaints because the walls and floors are paper thin. Be prepared for endless fire alarms at 3am. Do. Not. Rent. Here.
