  Been around the world and understand what makes an outstanding travel experience...Our experience was going well until we encountered Julia who was amazingly rude and off Putting. Our first and most likely our Last time. The view is beautiful but unfortunately our experience with the staff member created a negative experience and impression for future experiences. It is a shame that a beautiful view and great drinks are shadowed by terrible customer service. My suggestion go for a drink,scenery and instagram photos but eat Elsewhere for true authentically quality pleasurable experience in Newport RI!

  This place how did they managed to get a recommendation from Michellin, I dont understand whatever we ordered, there was no seasoning, no distinct flavor or everything mixed you can not taste anything..... Burger is just simple burger you can order for $12 at other places Steak tartar covered with mayonnaise, too much mayonnaise you can not even taste mustard flavor, no seasoning, Normally should be served with some crunchy bread/vegetables/sides but fried vegetables on top softer than a sponge....... Absolutely no flavor, It is hard to ruin this dish just following standard recipes, But they did really bad job Fish taco was absolute disaster, they put to much and unrelated vegetables, it tasted like a bad salad with horribly fried bad fish..... looks good on pictures but stay away from this one ceviche was like some scallop pieces in a half flavored, little acidic liquid, no flavor, no seasoning, no taste nothing........ corn bread was bland also even honey they gave couldn't save it Then we decided to not order anything 😒 end our dinner !!! and toilets smell bad , somehow looked clean but again not a good thing But drinks were good, they tasted good Don't make the same mistake as well did, dont eat the food , you might enjoy the drinks !!!!

  I booked a table for two, we ordered 4 dishes and a bottle of Veuve Cliquot. Was seated promptly, beautiful setting, but the server was not trained well for this atmosphere. Once the food arrived and one serving of the champagne was served, she disappeared until without a prompt, she plunked the bill down in front of me. Aghast, I looked at her, as she coolly looked back with sunglasses on and I let her know, gently, we were not finished yet as half a bottle of champagne was still in the bucket. Never refilled our glasses, I did that for us. She returned to see if my credit card was ready and twice, I said not done. Then, when I needed her to ASK for coffee and dessert, she abruptly asked if cream or sugar was needed, and I asked if all they offered was drip coffee and she said yes and that she'd bring the coffee and a dessert menu. Menu has espresso and cappuchino...so when she returned I pointed that out and she replied "You asked me what coffee we serve." Whoa...

  We had such a wonderful experience at The Lawn Terrace! We tried the avocado toast, corn bread, fried calamari, burrata, and eggs Benedict — and every single dish was absolutely delicious. The calamari was hands-down the best I’ve ever had, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The atmosphere makes it even better. Tables typically require reservations, but bar seating is available for walk-ins, which is super convenient. You can also just grab a drink and enjoy it near the ocean view, which creates such a relaxing and beautiful dining experience. Highly recommend this spot for both the food and the stunning setting — we’ll definitely be back!

  From the moment we arrived, The Lawn Terrace was an absolute dream. This charming inn truly embodies the magic of Newport. The location is simply unbeatable, offering breathtaking views of the water and perfectly manicured grounds that make you feel like you've stepped into a coastal paradise. Our room was immaculate, beautifully decorated with thoughtful touches that made it feel cozy and luxurious. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and waking up to the gentle sea breeze was pure bliss. What truly sets this place apart, however, is the staff. Every single person we interacted with was genuinely warm, friendly, and helpful. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect, offering excellent recommendations for dining and activities in town. The dining experience was also a highlight. While the inn doesn't have its own restaurant, the staff's recommendations were incredible! They guided us to amazing local spots that served fresh, delicious food, all just a short walk away. It made exploring the town's culinary scene easy and fun. The atmosphere is so peaceful and relaxing. Whether we were enjoying a coffee on the terrace or just taking in the stunning sunset, every moment felt like a true vacation. We left feeling completely refreshed and already can't wait to book our next trip back. The Lawn Terrace is more than a place to stay—it’s an experience you'll never forget.
