Lovely hotel in a great location. Double room was lovely, clean and generally well appointed. The staff were friendly and service good. Also in a very convenient central location. Only one gripe, but it was quite a major one to be honest. Upon arrival we discovered that there is an additional $40 per night charge on top of what we had already paid for the room. We weren't made aware of this when booking so only discovered the extra cost at the point of checking in. This charge essentially covers prepaying for a variety or features/services that you might not elect to use given the choice. It covers things like dry cleaning and snacks (cookies/crisps etc) in the room. However there is no mini bar/fridge so it doesn't cover you for any drinks (be they soft or alcoholic) to go with said snacks and it doesn't even get you breakfast. To be honest this was a bit annoying, as our room was prepaid and we didn't expect to arrive to an additional $200 dollar payment (for a five night stay). We didn't use any dry cleaning services, are generally happy to not have fresh towels every single day (in the interests of being slightly more eco friendly) etc and therefore don't really think that this was good value for money for us. And it isn't optional. Just something to be aware of when you book. The hotel was good overall and I would stay again - BUT I would factor in +$40 per night to the room charge, which might make equivalent alternative options more financially attractive...

The Godfrey is a lovely hotel with the most ideal location in all of Boston. Amari treated us like royalty from the moment we checked in. White glove service is an understatement for how attentive and polite Amari was. He made sure our every need was met. The rooms are clean, and well appointed, with many additional free amenities - water, toiletries,.etc. Not every room has a refrigerator, but the front desk will make sure you have one in room, if needed. The Godfrey is right by the T station, the Freedom Trail, and a variety of great restaurants, and points of interest. Definitely give this place a visit if you need a place to stay in Boston. You won't be disappointed.

Decent location, but a little sketchy at night. Clean room. Free snacks in room. But one of the worst beds I’ve slept in in years (room 219). It had a bow in the middle so bad we rolled into each other by morning. Awful pillows. The room was directly above a restaurant that played thumping bass until very late in the evening. Very loud street outside: horns, garbage trucks, people yelling, music, etc. Video casting didn’t work on the tv. something (maybe the AC?) rattled on/off all night long. I won’t be back here.

I enjoyed staying at the Godfrey. My room was large and comfortable and up to date. The staff was helpful and cordial. I missed a fridge in the room and the elevator situation is a bit tricky (long waits) but overall this was a good experience with a professional staff and a room that lives up to expectations. The location is central and convenient. I have a personal preference for hotels that are a bit more personal and less corporate but the Godfrey generally finds a decent middle ground. I would definitely return.

The hotel was extremely clean, the mattress and linens were fresh and comfortable. The room we stayed in was very spacious and roomy. The bathrooms were spotless and had plenty of amenities. The shower was fast to warm up and had a ton of water. The bar had a nice selection and it felt extra special to have someone open and close the doors whenever you came and went. It was also VERY close to the Boston Commons and Freedom Trail start as well as shopping, a cafe, and food. My two negatives were that they let the music play too long at night and if you’re on the second floor chances are you’ll hear it. Additionally, maybe it was just our room, but the HVAC struggled quite a bit to get cold. To the hotels credit, they did look at our HVAC right away and did turn the music off (it was almost midnight). All in all, I’d stay here again in a heartbeat. It absolutely made our trip comfortable and very enjoyable.
