Living at the citizen was pretty good. It’s leaving the citizen that has become a total nightmare. An auto payment issue has turned into months of me trying to reclaim $1500 from them. They told me that they are going to keep it because they want to pay for damages to their flimsy wood paneling that broke from the floor. keep in mind, this was not part of any prorated rent, this was not part of my rent, it was a simple mistake that auto payment did . After months of trying to talk to them and then resending my check out three times supposedly, they have only given me half the amount. I moved out in July. I finally got my check in November and it’s not even for the full amount. There is never anyone available to take your calls, they never want to see you. I’ve called them while standing in the office just to watch them not pick up. Their maintenance people are also really awkward. One of them would come to change the filter in my apartment and then stand there texting on his phone. The job was done. He’s standing in my house, not leaving after I asked him if he had anything else to do.

I have lived at The Citizen for over 4 years, and while I won't rave about the facilities (which are still passable; about a "C+"), what has kept me here is the TOTAL commitment, performance and constantly improving Staff. From the Management Team, led by Walter, Tarsha and Jessie in Leasing, right through to the efficient and expedient Service Team, led by Jerry, Antoine and Richard, their REMARKABLY fast, consistent and kindness elevate The Citizen to a SOLID "A," and blur much of the facility's physical deficits into the background. Good Leadership is very hard to achieve, but whatever The Citizen is doing to select, train, harmonize and care for its own Staff speaks volumes for where it places its priorities. Honorable Mention to the Management for keeping community facilities well-maintained and updated, and regularly hosting warm Get Togethers!

Five stars to the maintenance team led by Jerry! His outstanding team—Richard, Antione, and Wisdom—has truly been the best maintenance crew we’ve had in all the apartment communities we’ve lived in across the country. Their response time is quick, their work quality is excellent, and their friendly attitude makes a real difference. Although the apartment complex itself is quite rundown, this team has made living here genuinely pleasant—from their warm greetings to their professional service.

I’ve really enjoyed my time living at The Citizen. It has everything you need right nearby, and the apartments are super spacious with great amenities. Tarsha and Jessie in the main office are always so helpful and go above and beyond with their professionalism and kindness. I’d highly recommend The Citizen to anyone looking for a great place to live with a fair price.

I recently toured this apartment, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. One of the front desk staff members was disrespectful and unprofessional. While I was being assisted by another leasing agent, she interrupted our conversation to demand my ID in an abrupt and inappropriate manner. Typically, the leasing agent handling the tour requests identification not another staff member interrupting mid-conversation. Her behavior felt intrusive and potentially discriminatory. The management should look into this incident seriously and take appropriate action. I also plan to submit a formal complaint to the relevant authorities.
