    I struggle to understand how this is a four star hotel. The carpet in our room was incredible dirty and stained all over, not just in one place. Luckily the a/c unit wasnt leaking like other reviews have said, but we were weary to walk around barefoot. The location was fine, unfortunately the restaurant was closed the entire length of our stay. Staff was super friendly & kind. I would recommend looking at other places to stay for the $

    Today (3/21/24), we called The Breakwater Inn to confirm our reservations for mid-June; only to find out that they had no reservations for us. We have the confirmation number but unless we could produce the actual email or the credit card billing details, they wouldn’t consider honoring it. As in all situations, the credit card is not actually billed, so no proof there and the email was deleted but had a copy of the email with the date and confirmation number but that was denied because it wasn’t the original. What a poor way of doing business. As a matter of fact, we were never notified that our reservations were canceled. We only contacted them to provide them with our new credit card, as we were hacked. I will never do business with these people again and trust that others will consider to do the same. Such a shame. Oh…They did offer us a 50% off the current rate… Poor customer service all the way around.

    This was supposed to be a birthday gift for my husband. A three-day getaway for two incredibly exhausted people. Room booked (months in advance they the hotel website) was no where to expectations of what what was presented online through the hotel website. Staff, as previously mentioned, so disinterested. Room was so subpar with wallpaper falling off the walls. No room cleaning.Loud and inadequate air conditioning. Breakfast? If you want hard boiled eggs and a cup of coffee with flavored chemical creamer, sign up! It may come as no surprise that this was the only “resort” that had vacancy during the peak of the season. Please tell your staff to at least lift their head when customers are coming through the door.

    Very disappointing and we weren’t even unable to say at the hotel. We had made a reservation for 4 days on a Monday and found we had a conflicting agenda so canceled on a Tuesday but we’re still charged a $50 cancellation fee, how petty. So happy we couldn’t stay at this Hotel if this was the example of there understanding in this COVID environment.
