We moved in 2 weeks ago, we are pleasantly surprised how good the place is. First of all we like the spade and giant windows. You have excellent maintenance support. Very very quote neighborhood, building and residents. You can find different type of apartments. We live on top level and enjoy the views. Cherry on the top is pool and spa š. The only thing that is not as great is that the apartment is a bit old and has a little musty smell.

Would highly suggest people not live here. The staff is very unhelpful and treat you like you should be thankful to live in such a place.
Horrible experience with the leasing office manager. My parking sticker was torn and I returned it to the office to get new one. The manager refused to give me the parking sticker and she said āI donāt like the way youāre asking for the stickerā and she said āif you donāt leave the office I will call the copsā. So I called the cops because I was lost and I donāt know why sheās refusing to give me the parking sticker. The cops showed up to try to understand the situation and asked the manager why are you refusing to give him a parking sticker she replied with the same answer āI didn't like the way he asked for itā. I said what I do if my car got towed, she said Iāll give you a visitor parking and I can come back in couple days to pick the parking sticker.
I was insulted in front of my neighbors and I thought the leasing office is there to help residents and they are problem solvers but they are very rude and kicking customers out. FYI, I pay $2400 a month and Iāve never been late to pay the rent.
I've lived in the Aspen since 2017 and am very happy here! My unit is spacious and has a really great view. It is generally very quiet, and you can't beat the free parking that is usually available in abundance. The pool is nice and gets a good bit of sun until midafternoon. A lot of families with children use it, but it doesn't feel overrun with kids, which is nice. The free shuttle to the Crystal City Metro is a huge benefit.
I appreciate that we pay a flat rate for utilities, but of course with that comes the inability to individually control when we have heat and AC. Each year, those of us on the upper floors feel fairly miserable as we wait for them to turn the AC on in the 80-degree temperatures of the spring.
I love that there are all sorts of pups in the building. I do! I do not love that the elevators and hallways constantly smell of dog wee and the washing machines are full of dog hair. Even when they clean the carpets in the common areas, I don't notice an improvement in the dog odors.
The laundry facilities really leave a lot to be desired. On our floor, we haven't had all 3 machines functional in over a year, and the driers don't dry a load of clothes completely, so that is annoying, because we are paying cash for that. The machines also smell strongly of mildew and that sometimes lingers on the clothes.
And yes, it is really inconvenient when an elevator goes out, or they have to shut water off to make repairs, but that is the tradeoff of living in an older building. The walls and floors are thick cinder block, and you can't hear people walking above you or talking next door to you, but sometimes things in the building will break. I don't find that to be a very big deal. I always appreciate how quickly management staff communicate with us about these issues and how hard they work to repair them.
But what I love about living at The Aspen are the staff. Maintenance staff are very helpful and responsive. They treat each request with care and are not dismissive.
Most of the staff at the front desk are helpful and friendly. Getting packages is usually easy and they will help you with other things that you need help with.
Earl, in the front office, has always provided stellar support. He is super responsive, and it is obvious that he wants the residents to be comfortable and happy. I know that if I have a question or need anything, then Earl will sort it out. He's ace!!
I'm happy to have just renewed my lease for another year.
I moved into my studio apartment and it was immaculate!!! I was in awe of how clean and beautiful it was inside! The carpet looked brand new, all the walls and base boards were well painted and clean. The kitchen included clean, updated appliances! I was extremely excited about getting a gas stove and this apartment has one! I got everything I wanted in this apartment. Although it has only been 2 months since I moved in, I am still in awe of how beautiful and extremely clean the apartment is. They really took great care to prepare the apartment for me! Not only do they take care of the apartments but they also keep up the building itself, with making sure the hallways are clean and neat as well! They have a great Janitorial team! I really appreciate and thank the management staff, specifically Aleksandra, for taking the time to assist me with my move in process even while she was on her vacation and also special thanks to the maintenance team for doing such a great job with preparing the apartments. I have a background in residential property management and I know what it takes to prepare apartments (which is not always easy!) and move residents in and the property management team did a wonderful job! Thank you! P.s The neighborhood is wonderful as well!
Update:
I recently moved out of my apartment and I personally wanted to send a Thank you to the Assistant Property Manager Earl F. As he has been extremely helpful during this process and went above and beyond in helping me with my move out. Thank you Earl! I sincerely appreciate your help!
