I am writing a review of the Abbey as a wedding venue. My daughter had her wedding here this October on a Friday. My biggest fear came to fruition. The Saturday bride ruined our day with her obnoxious wedding planner traipsing her family and wedding party all around the hotel. I could not believe how a wedding planner and officiant would use our ceremony space for a rehearsal while our harpist and myself were in the ceremony space all decorated by our florist after my husband asked them not to. Then I enter the space to place an item on the chairs for my guests and these farmer looking people march down the isle and take seats in the first two rows. I asked the celebrant and wedding planner to leave and with classless self important demeanor proceeded without acknowledging my distress while I was dressed in my gown. In order to get rid of them I had to use profanity. The hotel allowed this to happen. The sales manager told my daughter she could use the cornerstone room for photo’s at her tasting dinner months before. We get a call from Angela Thorne saying she wanted to know where in the contract it was promised to her. It was not being used and is part of the Abbey where many brides take photo’s. She kept bothering us about using a wedding planner when the maid of honor is an event professional that helped us along with myself and my daughter keeping on top of everything. Angela also wanted to know where our 11,000 balance is. Can you imagine paying the final bill weeks before and you are told they didn’t see it. She gave the groom’s parents with one of them being 90 with a cane a room on the third floor at the end of a long hall far away from the elevator. My room wasn’t nice and I had to plead with the front desk to change it. They gave us a pasta table without the cold items on it and the pasta was lukewarm. No sauces. The ravioli was one big lump stuck together in a chaffing dish. The pesto rigatoni was dry and who wants pesto? The lobster soup at the tasting had claw meat in it but not at our reception. The branzino came with a very salty risotto which was inedible. They never gave my daughter wedding cake to take home. Also, Angela said we could have a bread service and at dinner there was none. I had to ask the maitre d for it. They later brought out day old crappy rolls and dry cut pieces of white bread. Not what you get at the restaurant. The servers were lovely and the day of staff Madison and Meghan were lovely. Angela was there and was nasty to my daughter and maid of honor. They can’t keep staff running weddings. They changed a magnificent chef and menu with pedestrian quality for both.

My husband and I spent some time at the Abbey Inn And spa, we did the romantic proposal package as we felt. It would be a great opportunity for a mini honeymoon after our wedding. The staff and the accommodations were absolutely incredible! We were greeted with a dozen roses, a bottle of champagne, and Beautiful scenery. The first night there we were treated to a seven course tasting menu with the executive chef and food and wine director Donnan and Ilani. They did an incredible job setting it up and then making us feel very welcome And overall making it an experience to remember. We did eat at the Apropos Restaurant one night and the food and cocktails were wonderful, my husband had the catch of the day which was a salmon and I had the sea dream which was on the menu. The dessert was so delicious and every meal we had including room service for breakfast really did feel luxurious. The package did include A couple massage And my husband and I enjoyed a aromatherapy 50 minute massage that was incredible. I would highly recommend spending some time with Abbey Inn and we look forward to our next day with them.

This place is so amazing I can’t recommend enough. The staff are so nice and accommodating, we didn’t think we were gonna be able to stay here because it was a busy weekend and prices were high. But the staff made it happen and I couldn’t be more thankful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The area is insanely stunning. Will 1000% be back as soon as we can!!!
