  The vegetables are so fresh here. Everytime I eat here Im very impressed. When I get my bill I wonder how can they make money when the food is this good and the service is this fast. Affordable, delicious, and fresh. The Drunken Noodle is hands down the best I've had anywhere. Its better the next day cold then anywhere hot I have eaten. This is a 10 star restaurant....5 is not enough ❤️

  The food was delicious and their Thai tea is one of my top choices. Their prices are great and the food is great quality taste!

  Pad Kraprow (Kapow, Grapow, depending on the restaurant) is probably my favorite Asian dish ever. This place serves the best I've ever had. I lived in Cville twenty years ago, and the original Thai '99 was fantastic, but this is better. There's a hint of...tartness, I guess? that makes me think they add just a bit of vinegar to the sauce. Amazing. And I like the ambience well enough. The bolts of fabric on shelves above the bar are a really inventive choice.

  My wife and I love Thai food. We have lived in 7 states and Thai ‘99 is in our top 2 favorite Thai restaurants that we have frequented. We live in the Richmond area and come to Charlottesville once a week. We look forward to our weekly trip to Thai ‘99 all week long! Great ownership and staff. Amazing appetizers, entrees, and desserts.
