Taylor Select has undergone some staffing changes this year that has made the company difficult to work with and unreliable. I had a great experience with them in the past but this year, when I ordered an entire tractor trailer load of shavings, I was met with nothing but challenges. It took two months to finally get them to ship out the shavings. I explained to them that there are a lot of logistics on my end (needs to be unloaded with a skid steer that I don't have so I have to coordinate with someone else on that). They assured me this was totally fine and they would make it work for me. After having to spend about $200 (and several hours and gas driving back and forth) to go get shavings to cover the two months of time before they got around to sending my shavings, their driver was four hours late. The person I dealt with there told me she would keep her work phone on all weekend so we could be in touch if there were any issues. When the driver was late, I tried calling, texting, and emailing only to find out that the phone had been turned off. Meanwhile, I paid my skid steer guy to sit around in his truck and wait for the deliver for 4 extra hours. I asked Taylor Select to help me out with that cost and they refused. As a small business owner, I can't absorb this kind of cost especially when I had clearly explained the situation to them. Also, I've already had several bags with wet, frozen shavings despite them saying they're okay to be stored outside. Additionally, I ordered the mini flake and while the bags are labeled mini, they are huge shavings causing a lot of waste. Needless to say, this has been a very disappointing experience and the shavings aren't cheap! I ordered a tractor trailer load which was about $6,000.
