The white people next to us their group was like 6-7 people they got their food before us, we were there before them our group was 4 people our order was 2 quesadillas and 6 tacos pretty simple order and we were even there when the other group of people who sat on that table before them. We are Mexican so you would think we would feel more welcomed but no you could totally tell the whites had priority. It took over 30 minutes to receive our food. As a Mexican that food was not authentic super white washed idk how it received a Michelin star, there’s other hidden gems in Chicago that are actually authentic and delicious. Super over hyped. Will never return.

Great little spot for a lunch or dinner with friends. Food is great, not anything mind boggling but has seasoning and no extra unnecessary ingredients. Music is amazing, loving the 24/7 Bad Bunny playlist. I tried the Al Pastor Taco and the Birria and it was so delicious. Not sure about giving entire pineapple slices with the taco but I ate it all regardless. Large drink selection and will be trying the quesadillas next!
I was hesitant to try this place because of the negative reviews, but wow, I'm really glad I went anyway. I'm not sure what all the hate is about, but this place is great. It's Chicago's closest thing to the vibe and food of The Taco Stand (Miami, San Diego) and Amor y Tacos (Zócalo in Mexico City). As soon as I walked in, I was kicking myself for not coming sooner. I love the old school vibe. Staff was friendly. I had my 2 favorite tacos: Al Pastor and Baja Fish. The pastor tasted *exactly* like the Taco Stand in San Diego and the Baja fish was great (and made correctly BTW. I hate it when places call it "Baja" but then don't add the baja sauce 🙄). The taco prices are higher here in CHI than in San Diego (which is supposedly expensive?), but hey, you can't win 'em all. I didn't try the full menu, and I didn't get my usual cocktail this time, but I'll definitely add this to my list of go-to taco spots. I'm happy I found a piece of San Diego right here in CHI. Hats off the cooks and staff. 🙏🏾👊🏽

We got a catered dinner for a group with a lot of dietary restrictions and the team at Tacombi went above and beyond to accommodate us. Every item was clearly labeled, which made ordering stress-free and inclusive for everyone.
The food? Absolutely delicious. Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The carne asada tacos were a standout, and even our pickiest eaters left happy.
Tacombi made our night easy, fun, and delicious. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food and thoughtful service, especially if you have dietary needs in your group!
A special shoutout to Daniela for helping us with the order, everything was perfect.

Bland and not filling. Trying too hard to mimic a taco stand from Mexico, but the food doesn’t come close in taste, and the salsas aren’t nearly spicy enough. I had three tacos: the pastor isn’t even close to a real one from Mexico—restaurants should really call it what it is, marinated pork. The beef ribeye was another disappointment: two thin slices of ham-like ribeye, resembling Arby’s, just a bit crispier. And finally, the birria—another letdown. Cheese in it?! Consomé served in a cup that makes it hard to dip the taco.
“Burritas”? Clever name, but these are not typical of a taco stand in Mexico. If anything, they should be offering tortas.
Drinks seemed fine, but bad food does not entice you to drink. A disappointing experience — I will not eat here again.
