The staff is great and always super friendly but their oil I swear is bad. What ever goes into the oil tastes absolutely terrible only at this Locust Taco Bell not the other Taco Bell’s in Dubuque.

We pulled into the Taco Bell drive-thru, just a normal stop to grab food for the family. I was looking over the menu like any normal customer, because let’s be honest, half the time you don’t know what you want until you see it.
I couldn’t find the item I wanted, so I asked the guy at the speaker if they still had it. He said yes, so I added it to the order. Then I started adding two more things for my kids. If you’ve ever ordered for kids, you know it’s chaos. Opinions flying, last-minute changes, and “Wait, I want that instead.” It’s real life.
Then my wife realized she forgot something for their orders. I told the guy to give me another second. And that’s when it happened. He sighed, loud enough to hear, and said, “Well, you’ve already taken four minutes of my time.”
Four minutes. At a drive-thru.
For a second I thought he was joking. But he wasn’t. I asked him why that mattered, and he said he was the manager, and that Taco Bell tracks and reports how long each customer takes at the speaker.
So that’s the game now. Not food. Not service. Just a timer ticking somewhere on a spreadsheet.
My wife didn’t even want to finish the order after that. I paid for the kids’ food because I didn’t want to take it out on the crew, but that was it for us.
We drove off and went to Burger King instead. They smiled, took their time with us, and treated us like people, not stopwatches.
Taco Bell, if your managers are being trained to rush families in the name of efficiency, you’ve lost something bigger than time. You’ve lost touch with what hospitality means. You’ve lost customers who actually cared. And that’s not a timer you can reset.

Stopped in waited patiently to get my order taken, no one was in line ahead of me. One person said that'd be with me in a moment, which was fine drive thru was busy. Only to hear right after by the person that takes the orders rudely comment that we have a kiosk for that. I get it but I'm not used to the kiosk and never used one before. After I heard that I just walked right out.
Terrible customer service refused to check my receipt because I had an online mobile order.

The food is generally always fine. I've really never had any complaints. I mean it is what it is. I was raised in Monterey, Mexico. Lived there 8 years. Now that's Mexican food. But I know going in that Taco Bell is nothing like what I was raised on and I accept that. TB is nothing to rant and rave about. I'm certainly no shouting any accolades from my roof top. Their Guacamole isn't half bad. Their Refried beans R fine...better than Taco John's by far. I love their chalupas and their nacho cheese hard tortilla shells. I really wish they'd get their salsa verde packets back in that were not as spicy as what they offer now. I usually add a bunch of extra items 2 my champagne. That really raises the cost up in a hurry. I think that the prices that they charge 4 their extra ingredients is a bit much. I usually get sour cream, onions, black beans and Guacamole. For the small amount that is actually used on a taco or chalupa, the cost is is definitely a rip off. I suppose that I could out all that on myself at home. But then that tends 2 negate the whole idea of going out and grabbing fast food in my opinion. Not 2 mention the mess a person tends 2 make when they have a tear something already made apart just 2 add something more at home. Not worth the headache, hassle, mess and inconvenience in my mind. I'll just pay the extra $ instead. My husband and son absolutely love their apple empanadas. And my son and I literally can't get enough of their mango tea!! It's absolutely delicious as is, but really refreshing thrown in the blender with crushed ice and made in to a smoothie with either canned or fresh mango thrown in there as well. We've even made a dessert out of it by adding vanilla ice cream or daiquiri Sherbet in with the smoothie. Their help is generally decent considering the pay. Always polite, courteous and helpful.
