Absolutely appalled that this place can call itself a Best Western. I have NEVER seen such a poorly kept property with 3 stars! The overflowing dumpster that sits under the hotel's sign should've been an indicator of what to expect, but I tried to have an open mind. I asked about the plywood leaning up against the wall of the pool area and was informed that the pool and spa were closed for repairs. Naturally, this devastated my 8yr old daughter. I asked for bleach to sanitize the bathtub so that she could have some sort of water play time. The desk attendant was very accommodating and supplied rags and a peroxide based cleanser. Upon entering the room, I discovered that the tub was black on the bottom with a scum ring all the way around and pink/black mold in the grout and caulking. The picture of the bathtub is AFTER I scrubbed it. I also found the six-pack plastic ring IN the tub. The bathroom smells of urine, even after I cleaned the floor too. There was questionable ick around the toilet paper dispenser, light switch and on the walls/door handles. Too bad I didn't take pictures of the cleaning rags to show just how gross this really was! The carpet turned the bottom of my daughter's feet black, so we're walking around in our socks. Kinda glad we noticed quickly, since there's clearly debris on the carpet. The doors for the fridge cabinet, the wall behind the trash can and the wall beside the door also have some clearly unpleasant "stuff" on them. We pulled the bedding all the way back, just to be sure that there wasn't anything actually IN the beds. It honestly wouldn't have surprised me at this point. I understand exactly why the attendant was so accommodating, housekeeping CLEARLY isn't a priority. I could deal with the minor inconveniences of things like the fridge not getting cold or the shower going scalding hot any time someone uses water elsewhere. But a guest shouldn't need to clean their own room at CHECK-IN. We'd go somewhere else if we had the option at this point. Here's to hoping there's room at Ronald McDonald House the next time we need to come to Lucille Packard Children's Hospital! Unless there's no other option or you only need to sleep, DON'T STAY HERE!

Yes and no. It is cheaper than other hotels around. And it is quiet. The room was a bit odd from the layout and definitely need some renovations, specially the bathroom. So far it was clean and the bed was okay. Breakfast as usually and typical for that kind of hotel.
