My daughter and I spent 4 nights at the Sure Stay of Best Western in Covington, La. We found mold on the shower walls and the shower curtain. There was also dirt and grime behind the toilet and in the corners of the bathroom. There was a rather large shard of jagged glass outside our room by our parking place. The breakfast was underwhelming with cold egg patties and cold sausage patties. The instructions for making a breakfast sandwich were to add egg, sausage and cheese to bread. There was zero cheese. There was a yogurt machine that wouldn’t actually dispense any substantial amount of yogurt. I tried and it would drop 1 drop for every push of the button. I reported this to the front desk and he said he would fix it. I tried the next day and machine was still inoperable. It was $89 per night and we expected a clean room at the very least. Disappointed!!! We have stayed much cheaper and received much cleaner rooms.

It was a last minute stay and the best part of the stay was the young man at the desk (Shane?). He was so pleasant and friendly. The rooms have been updated a bit and there was no carpet, but they were not great. The mattresses were not comfortable and there was mold in the bathroom. Breakfast was pretty pitiful. The coffee might has we’ll have been water. There was cereal but no milk, and the yogurt, eggs and sausage tasted like they had gone bad. They’d be better off having a bowl of fruit and prepackaged pastries. The morning staff was not as friendly as the night crew. I didn’t expect great things for the price, but a clean room and good coffee are basics.

Perhaps lulled by the Plus, stayed at many BW Plus, and this is nowhere near the same level.
But saying that cheap overnight stay.
The man on the front desk was very helpful and polite.
Oh, google maps doesn’t seem to take you there for some reason 🤷🏼♂️ takes you to a hotel around the back of Country Inn (as of 2025)

They couldn’t “find” my reservation upon arrival. I called booking and she called to find out they had my room “checked in” aka gave it to someone else so when I turned around and came back the guy met me at my truck and said here’s your key. After already telling me the only room he had left had mold, it definitely smelled like mold, had roaches and nasty splatters on the walls. He told us he would refund us at check out but he was gone and they would not do it! 232$ for a 32$ room! Definitely do not recommend! Last option type of facility! No breakfast either!! Just saying

BEWARE!! WEBSITE PHOTOS ARE DECEIVING!! This is a MOTEL not a HOTEL and why it costs this much per night is beyond me. We traveled here for a soccer tournament and the images online looked decent so to our horror when we arrived, at nearly midnight, with a child to a motel that looks like it’s rented by the hour, we were in disbelief. The front of the building looked as tho it had been updated but when you round the corner you quickly discover you’ve been duped. We thought surely the room won’t be terrible and will be ok to get us through for one night but no. I didn’t even want to sit my things down. It’s smelled like smoke had seeped into the walls after a chain smoking in it for the last thirty years. The guy working or manager seemed to understand the issue as it appeared this wasn’t his first time having someone complain about this. He offered us a “nicer” room located above the check-in area. There were only two, the one to the right had shoes scattered along the outside of it as if they lived there and the other looked like it would have spy footage in the outlets and mirrors. So by 1am we were forced to look for another place to stay with a child who had to be up early and sold out rooms everywhere due to the tournament. So please pause and look at the customer REVIEWS and PICS. Hopefully this will save someone from the nightmare of a night we had to endure.
