My stay at SureStay was one of shocking disappointment, far below basic standards of hospitality. My experience highlighted serious issues with management integrity and property safety.
1. Deception and Arbitrary Service:
After two hours of "phone tag" to confirm my booking, the individual identified as the Manager (who enforced "my dad rules") initially lied, claiming the hotel was fully booked to prevent moving my reservation from a smoking room. The night attendant easily moved me to a non-smoking room later that evening, proving the Manager's statement false. The following day, he arbitrarily enforced an inconsistent 4-towel maximum for three guests.
2. Egregious Professional Misconduct and Body-Shaming:
The most unacceptable incident occurred when the Manager came to our room and questioned my partner. After confirming our relationship, he made a derogatory personal attack, referring to me using the phrase "the big big girl" and criticizing my attitude. This level of unprofessional body-shaming and disrespect directed at a paying guest is inexcusable and demonstrates that this individual is unfit for a management role.
3. Major Safety Concerns:
Beyond the internal service issues, the surrounding environment was troubling. The parking lot and exterior areas had a consistent and visible presence of homeless individuals, apparent drug users, and people openly smoking cannabis. This severely compromised our sense of safety and comfort throughout the stay.
Conclusion:
Based on the Manager's deceptive actions, the blatant disrespect and personal attack, and the significant safety issues at the property, I strongly recommend travelers avoid this location. No low price justifies this level of misconduct.
Very clean rooms and the lady at the front desk was super polite.

The 5 star reviews are either paid or weren’t expecting too much. Ok place for a night. This motel was recently renovated so no carpets and new beds. Room was clean, but had a very musty smell with a mix of fresh paint smell. Also had someone try to walk in our room, not sure if staff but they had a keycard to room. The free breakfast is mostly grab and go items, no hot breakfast. Which the lobby smelled of cigarettes, not asthmatic friendly.

It was thoroughly impressed! The hotel has clearly undergone recent renovations — everything felt clean, modern, and well-maintained. You can tell they’ve put in real effort to upgrade the experience for guests.
I stayed in one of their best rooms, and it did not disappoint. The bed was super comfortable with fresh linens, the furniture looked brand new, and the overall layout was both spacious and functional. The bathroom was spotless with updated fixtures, and I appreciated the quality toiletries provided. Everything smelled fresh, and the air conditioning worked perfectly — a must in Jacksonville!
The location is ideal for travelers, just minutes from the airport, but still quiet and peaceful. Despite being near a busy area, the hotel felt safe and calm.
The staff were friendly and helpful, always ready to answer questions or give local tips. Free breakfast and parking were also a great bonus.
I would definitely stay here again, especially now that it’s been newly renovated. Highly recommend it for anyone flying in or out of Jacksonville or just looking for a clean, comfortable, and convenient stay.
