As an interior designer, I know how essential craftsmanship, quality, and communication are in any project. During the gut renovation of my own home, I wanted to make sure I partnered with the right wood flooring company. We chose SOTA Floors, and they exceeded our expectations in every way. Eric, the owner, was incredibly patient and collaborative. He spent countless hours with me to ensure we achieved the perfect color and finish for our floors. The team also hand-cut a stunning mosaic chevron pattern for our powder room, which has received endless compliments from everyone who visits. Even our general contractor, who had never worked with SOTA before, was so impressed by their professionalism and results that he now plans to use them for all of his future projects. The crew was hardworking, respectful of our home, and coordinated seamlessly with the other subcontractors on site. I cannot recommend SOTA Floors highly enough and truly look forward to working with them again on future projects.

Eric and his team at SOTA have been fantastic. They installed new engineered rift and quartered white oak flooring over radiant heating (Warm Board) and maneuvered around tiled surfaces as well as steel railings. Then, they re-finished and stained existing red oak flooring to match the new white oak. No matter the challenge, Eric had a solution. And, he was flexible, communicative and very friendly throughout. He and his guys are great -- we recommend them highly.

Beautiful results from SOTA! My original dark oak floors are now bleached, giving new light and life to our home. The work was completed on schedule and SOTA's men were very considerate and competent.

We had a week to get new floors installed into our newly purchased co-op before it was time to move in. Eric Herman the president of SOTA floors personally came to see us and make his recommendations. The next day my husband and I went to choose our engineered hardwood floor at the showroom...Laura, was there to walk us though all of our choices. She patiently helped us mill through a bunch of floor choices. Once we made our choice the floor was ordered and Eric's foreman, Joe and his crew, worked to complete the job in 4 days. The job was not only completed in 4 days but it was done beautifully. We have already gotten compliments on our new floors and would not hesitate to recommend this team to neighbors and friends.

There are flooring contractors and then there is Eric Herman at State of the Art Flooring. I’m pleased to say that Eric is a cut above all the other contractors out there. My situation involved a failed refinishing of a floor as a result of having a difficult wood to stain (Beech). To determine how best to fix the problem I interviewed 5 different contractors and only Eric promised that he could solve it. But more importantly, only Eric was willing to make the effort to understand what had gone wrong previously and then invest the time experimenting with different solutions. He did not less than 20 samples in his laboratory and 8 samples on sight. When one approach wasn’t working, he switched gears and spent several hours on the phone with the manufacturer of a product that ultimately worked. Eric might cost more than other contractors, but he is worth every penny! I wholeheartedly recommend him and his firm.
