I love this establishment. The service is amazing. But I did want to leave a quick comment regarding the Pepper Jack grits. I used to be super obsessed with them but not when I eat them they taste like their missing something or it just doesn't taste how it originally did in the past. I'm missing that bubbly feeling when I first ate them. I'm not sure if it's just my tastebuds used to the flavor..... or it's something is missing or changed. Because when I tried the Locust Grove location I can taste the difference between the grits for some reason and I'm not sure what it is. Thanks

So for starters.. I’m not one to leave reviews at all but what I experienced at this establishment was underwhelming to say the least. It’s surprising because of the positive reviews here. Never have I ever experienced a wait time for my food as long as I did here.. and if I can be honest I would’ve left but it would’ve been unfair for the staff in the kitchen who may have already started the process. In ANY dining establishment the wait time would’ve been viewed negatively and it seems like this is the norm here because not once did the waitress address that the food would be given to us out of the normal approximate wait time. Furthermore, it seemed like there was a wait time for even small things such as a to go plate. It got to the point where by the time I received my food I was uninterested in eating because it wasn’t worth the wait and portions of my food weren’t as warm. Not once was there any offerings or communication for the fact that there was a major delay and I think that separates what good service is in any restaurant.
I did notice that this establishment might be pinching pennies and cutting corners, because while I asked for napkins.. we were only given a couple. I have no problem supporting black owned businesses but what’s a turn off for me is when you charge the prices you charge and the service doesn’t match up. This doesn’t take away from how kind the waitresses were and it seems like they were trying but I don’t see myself returning here just because I could’ve went somewhere else but chose to try this place and regretted the experience completely. I really hope they do improve with their service in the near future.

I was excited to see they had vegan options but was disappointed. I placed my order online at 10:40 and was expecting it to be ready by 11:10. I arrived around 11:30 and was told my order was ready. The hostess went to the back several times but failed to come back with my food. Two or three more people came out of the back and finally someone asked if I was being helped. The original person came back out and I asked if she had said my food was ready. She said yes, she just needed to get it. I was left very confused about why it took 15 minutes for me to get my order that was already ready.
As for the food, I ordered the vegan big breakfast, and it was anything but big. For $26 I was expecting to at least get full! It was also supposed to include fruit but did not. Maybe the portions for dine-in customers are bigger. Very disappointing experience.

We tried this spot out while visiting my brother and my god this place is fantastic! We were warned the wait might be a while due to it being a made fresh to order restaurant. Even so, we didnt wait long at all.
Started with the collard green egg rolls- 10/10
3 orders of the Big breakfast with sweet potato waffle and peach cobbler waffles-10/10
1 full order of the biscuits and gravy which was a massive portion. 10/10
Food was delicious, perfectly sweet and seasoned. The bacon was next level. Will definitely return when we visit again!
Deserve 5 stars but had to give 4 due to service.I usually go to the Locust Grove location. But today and 3 weeks ago I came here because it was more convenient. Absolutely LOVE the food and you get your money worth but the service has to get better. Called at 12:48 to get on the wait list. Outside watching people come in and out. Decided to come in and find out why I was still waiting and 3 tables were open. Immediately we were seated at 1:27. Waitress finally came at 1:40 (entirely to long) and we immediately order. Hostess that's always at the door called my phone at 1:43 saying my table was ready. I would of been waiting all that time for no reason. Our food didn't come out until 2:18. Eggs and bacon was sent back because the eggs wasn't throughly cooked and the juice from it was on the bacon. 3 week's ago had we had an issue about seating and waited 18 mins for no reason. Then waited another 15 mins before Ms. Lo came but she was the only waitress so that's understandable. The 3 times I've came, I bought people from out of state or live locally that's never been here before and it made me felt bad from the experiences because I'm always bragging about the food. Communication with the staff definitely needs improvement. Huge thank you to Ms. Lo. 2 out of the 3 times I've came, she was the only waitress and she always does a great job holding it down.
