First time visiting Chicago and I was craving some good soul food—and Soul Vibez did not disappoint! We came on a Friday night around 6pm and, as expected, it was busy. We put our name down and waited about an hour, which honestly flew by thanks to the lively atmosphere and the anticipation of good food. Once seated, we were greeted by our server, Cassie, who was an absolute gem. She was friendly, attentive, and super helpful in guiding us through the menu. The food came out in about 20 minutes, and let me tell you—it was worth the wait. Everything was flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and tasted like it was made with love. You can tell this place takes pride in their dishes. If you’re in Chicago and looking for authentic soul food with great service, Soul Vibez should be at the top of your list. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town!

WARNING*Prices are subject to change in the middle of your meal. The prices of your food that you order may or maybe not be the actual price once the bill is presented (without explanation ). The waitress. (Shay) was very pleasant and apologetic but the owner seemed to careless and be more about a cash grab. It is very displeasing to order food with expectation of paying the price as listed on the menu just to pay a 30% increase just because. I could understand if this particular food item was listed as market price (MP). In my 40+ years of life I've never seen a slice of pie have an MP next to it. The food prices were definitely elevated for basic and under seasoned soul food with a tiny lack luster atmosphere. But I was hustled today! I will never return. Immediately following my visit to Soul Vibez I went to the Navy Pier and went to Chef Art’s Reunion restaurant. I inadvertently met their executive chef, Chris, and told him about my experience. I purchased a side of greens from there which are a 10/10 and very flavorful compared to Soul Vibez and the chef added an order of hot biscuits with honey butter and jam along with a slice of their hummingbird cake to make up for my experience at a totally different restaurant. That’s great service! Go to Chef Art’s at the pier NOT SOUL VIBEZ

We’ve ordered directly and through Uber Eats several times. Unfortunately this fourth error was an issue. Most of our orders are above $100. However their customer service and ability to correct an order that is wrong is simply not in place. I typically will keep a bad review to myself. However, Zach’s handling of this was well below expectations. As senior citizens we need our food delivered properly and in a timely fashion. The entire order was for another person. Also this is not the first time this has occurred. Once I sent my husband, he waited an hour and left for an order placed 90 minutes earlier.

I visited Soul Vibez today for Sunday brunch and had a great experience. Even with a short wait, the check-in system was smooth, and we were seated at the bar within 20 minutes. The bartender was friendly, attentive, and made sure everyone was taken care of. I ordered chicken and waffles with a mimosa flight, and my friend had french toast and turkey sausage—the food came out warm, well-presented, and delicious. The bar seating was spacious, the vibe was lively without being too loud, and the service was excellent. I’d definitely recommend Soul Vibez for a fun and tasty brunch in Chicago.

I went with family members on Saturday. The 1st issue was when an hour and a half wait turned to over 2 hours because the person that took the "reservation " booked a table for 2 instead of 5. Next, we were told where we would be seated so, we asked if one of our party could go ahead and have a seat because she has medical issues. The kind young man named Jaylen, happily obliged. This guy, we came to know as Dylan or Dilly, came out yelling " What are they doing? You can't sit there!" Jaylen explained and so did we. It wasn't enough for him. Instead, he walks off to a table with other guests and yelled back, " I aint finna argue with you!" The situation had already ended. He then proceeded to tell his version to other guests and his coworkers. Each one gave us dirty looks the whole time. Candace was our wait person and she changed the environment for us. She was kind and professional. I have to mention John, who held on to my phone after I left it in the restroom. Candace, Jaylen and John were the 3 stars. I probably will not go back, though. Also, the food was delicious.
