I received a lockout for no reason on 10/31/24 with my 8 yr old & dog in the car after trick-or-treating with friends in their neighborhood. I had to purchase a code & it took nearly 40 mins for us to get the car started with a representative on the phone who told me this was only good for 6 hrs at which time I would need another code. I made arrangements for someone to take my daughter to school in the morning & planned to take the truck to have issue resolved on my lunch break. At roughly 2pm on 11/1/24 I purchased a code which again didn't work so reached out for help from a representative which took 35 mins to get one. After repeatedly attempting to use the code, I had to pass the phone for my husband to try to work with the rep as I needed to return to work. They tried for another 45 mins which put it around 3:45pm when the rep stated we needed to have the vehicle towed. The shop down the street closed at 5pm and it takes an hour to get a tow, so we desperately tried to find another location to take it as to not be without a vehicle for the weekend with multiple extra-curricular activities planned. Excitedly we found a location that showed open until 6pm in Mesa AZ so rode with the tow truck there only to find them closed, found another location a but further in Tempe AZ which showed open until 7pm only to find they no longer even deal with Smart Start. The tow had to be somewhere at 6pm so dropped me off on the side of the road. Luckily I had someone available to pick me up and take me around to find an actual location that could help which took over and hour and was about 45 mins in the opposite direction. On 11/2/24, I had to get another tow to pick my vehicle up from the side of the road in Tempe & take it to East Mesa to have it serviced where I was told that the "head piece" of my device needed to be replaced and there was a loose wire that needed to be repaired. Now I'm assuming that this has negatively effected me with the DMV. This company refuses to take any accountability nor will they refund me any of my expenses even after I was told by 2 technicians that several people are having issues with this newer device that's being tested only in AZ.
